Do they have an outside Formation at the end of Parent's weekend, or just return back to their Company area ? Back in the day (when dinosaur's roamed the Yard), we had a Formation, often accompanied by some caring uppperclassman's stereo playing "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas." (the next time most Plebes see their Parent). That was followed by a nice re-adjustment period, where the Detailers did their best to rid our fragile minds of the relaxing weekend we spent with our family. :)
 
I was there for PPW a few years ago and don’t recall an outside formation. My gear group got the full windows open yell fest with Christmas music while parents watched in the parking lot. Rumors are music isn’t allowed anymore.
 
We were there last year (DS was a second set Detailer) and there was no formation - just get back and report as required. The music was on their deck for all to hear, though. Re-adjustment happened the next morning....
 
“Readjustment”...that’s a nice way of putting it.
 
I do remember those Christmas Carols blaring out from Mother B. I thought it was funny DW did not appreciate the humor. Too bad if music is not allowed from Mother B. They can dumb down everything
 
I keep seeing PPW 2020 on this forum as Aug 8-11, but that is a Saturday through Tuesday, isn't it? I thought I-Day was Thu 6/25 and that exactly 6 weeks from then (for PPW) was Thu 8/6 through Sun 8/9. Wanting to book hotel for PPW but seeing conflicting dates. I can't find USNA calendar which has PPW 2020 on it. ?
 
You shouldn't have any trouble booking a hotel or AirBnB in and around DTA this early along. We booked in April and had no trouble for both I-Day and PPW.
 
We assumed Thurs 8/6 through Sun 8/9 and booked a refundable stay. That way if the dates aren't right for some reason, we can adjust. I'm pretty sure the Aug 8-11 were dates for 2019 PPW.

This is because you are looking at a thread dated before parents weekend of LAST year. So thread discussion is for 2019 before your post. Others have chimed in with 2020 info.

Make sure you watch thread dates when searching for info!
