Drinking while Playing Twister is a Bad Idea

Oh my.

It would never have occurred to me to have a margarita machine in my office or offer a game of Twister. I did offer rides in my souped-up NAVSTA XO golf cart to department heads on nice days to take the meeting out of the office as well as look for tenant commands who weren’t keeping their areas properly titivated, dual-purpose missions.

Oh my, again. Reminds me of when I got to read all the flag officer misconduct cases in the Pentagon. I swear some common sense switch gets toggled off in some of them when they put that fat gold stripe on their sleeve.

It's not a toggle switch. Some people never grow out of being a JO. What might be fun and acceptable (at least in the "Old Navy") for an O-3 doesn't really fly after 0-4. What amazes me is that this guy is a SWO -- I really expected he was an Aviator.

I’m cool with the frosty tequilas but free hugs.

That’s just creepy.

I bought a pre-mixed bottle of Jose Cuervo Grapefruit-Tangerine Margarita last Friday, and it's gone. I have to say that it is THParent-Approved™.

Margarita machine in the office sounds fantastic. Pretty sure there is a reg against that though. I mean I am sure Twister and hugs aren’t specifically called out, but pretty sure he knew those were a no go. Makes you wonder...

A friend/faculty member who is very close to the situation thinks it is more about Faculty opposition to his decision making - like pushing raises to women and minorities who were not being paid on a par with the rest of the faculty. The more established profs want to be in control of the institution. I saw how this works only too well where I teach, a couple of years prior to me teaching, I was a member of their Board of Visitors and had a front row seat to shenanigans where the faculty brought down a provost and then two yrs later another provost. NOTE: Faculty were part of the decision makers who brought in both provosts. Then, they second guessed decisions time after time. When my wife was Department Chair, the professors in the department could veto her decisions and it took great efforts for her to literally get anything done.
By the way, my friend on the scene saw the margarita machine and it was NOT in the President's Office and what they're calling working hours are after 5 at a place where most of the staff comes and goes at odd hours because of evening events, etc.

And now the Admiral has left the building and cut short his tour by at least a year. Probably right to retirement.

I'd rather play twister, with frozen margarita's, then make my bed every morning. I agree with the O.G. above, sounds like a drive by.
