Waitlist Tracker for End game TWE or Appointments

Just curious if anyone on the waitlist has received a TWE or any other feedback?

My son received this yesterday morning. Has anyone else? I hate to sound like a dummy, but is this TWE?

<<<<Good morning,
As we near Induction Day for the Class of 2023, I am reaching out to you to see if you are still interested in remaining on the USNA Wait List until I-Day is complete (27 June). As the class is currently overfilled, we do not suspect needing to make anymore offers. However, in the event that last minute changes occur, a select number of students will remain on the USNA Wait List.
If you have already committed to another college or university, we sincerely wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors. If you still desire to attend USNA, we highly recommend that you reapply for the Class of 2024, should you not be selected off the Wait List.
Please let me know by Friday, 14 June, whether or not you desire to remain on the USNA Wait List for Class of 2023. I look forward to hearing from you!>>>>

This is not a TWE
looks like they are paring back the waitlist to just a few in the event they have more no shows or medical turn backs on IDay than expected
every year there are a few people who back out at the last minute or have a physical problem that prevents them from entering the class.
Looks like you are still in the game, however slight the changes may be
good luck

If they have enough no shows and medical turn backs to need some waitlisters, would they appoint some and in-process them after plebe summer starts? Brings me to another question: What if a '23 appointee misses I Day because of a fight delay or something? Would USNA inprocess them a day after?

> No, like anything else USNA sends, take it on its face. They are paring down the wait list to see who is still interested in the (unlikely) event a last minute opportunity opens. I suspect many have already resigned themselves and committed to Plan B, and it would be quite a shock to get a call the day before I Day asking if you would like to join the Class of 2023. (It happens from time to time).

> I've never heard of any offers after I Day.. realistically, starting the Class a handful short isn't going to impact Navy officer manning in 4 years.
WRT to flight delays, etc. I am sure that it happens . I'd also speculate that USNA has a plan in place for that contingency, to include a private swearing in, and accelerated initial issue. I would expect the PTR package has some guidance about what to do in the event of delay , if not my recommendation would be to call the USNA Duty Office and report the problem (and your plan for getting to USNA ASAP) once you realize that you aren't going to make it on time.

This question will bring the thread off topic (forgive me) but I’ll ask anyways:

How does an incoming plebe get turned away on I Day? Is it obvious stuff like broken arm or leg?

DS’s roommate last year was turned back from his medical exam. He had an injury (broken something I believe) that was reported, healed, etc. but at medical, he wasn’t healed to their standards.

I have read of not passing a drug screen. I guess a Mid could be pregnant and not know it? I’m not an expert but that’s what comes to mind.

They also breathalyze all incoming Plebes. Plebes have actually arrived in various states of inebriation before, and have been turned away. Besides being illegal for most candidates because of their age, one is not allowed to take the oath under the influence of alcohol - or any controlled substance that isn't prescribed by a Doctor and cleared with DoDMERB - for that matter.

Kind of baffles me that someone would drink RIGHT BEFORE I-Day. All that hard work just being thrown away...
