Confused about DBIDS card, still!

DH and I didn't fill out the form for a DBIDS card since we are so far away, but after reading a few posts it sounds like it will come in handy for future, late evening privileges. Here's my confusion--would it be better to hand-carry this on I-Day since mailing it this late might mean it ends up in limbo somewhere being processed on I-Day? Is there a separate line for parents who SENT in paperwork versus a longer line for parents who are submitting that day?

Nope. Same line. Just bring the paperwork with you. They have to fingerprint and photograph you.

I would maybe mail AND hand carry. The mailing is only to expedite the process once you arrive. So if u go, and they don’t have it loaded yet, you have it.

Not sure about the lines but I suspect it will be very clear. They have been at this a long time. I’m also confident you aren’t the only people who won’t have pre-mailed it in.

It’s really not a big deal. If it takes a couple hours, just go Plebe hunting or get ice cream DTA and come back later. Or visit the museum.

You won’t regret getting it. Still trying to coordinate it myself. Looking like it’ll happen on a visit for the Halloween concert in October.

On a similar note, if we are driving, which gate do we go to? Should we park off site and walk in? Our plan is to get this done a day or 2 earlier than I-day.

If you are driving and you don't have a DBIDS card, military ID, or Handicapped parking placard, you will not be allowed onto the grounds in your car (unless there is a space in the exceedingly small visitor lot).

I would suggest parking in the Noah Hillman Garage, (150 Gorman Street) in Downtown Annapolis (DTA), or down by the City Dock at the meters. The meters will only allow you two (2) hours though, so keep that in mind.

We have sent our paperwork. We just stopped by the pass/ID office to get our DBID cards. They said we were going to be issued our visitors pass on PPW.
