I sent in my high school transcript to the Army ROTC application website and I got a message saying I was disqualified due to having a GPA below 2.5. This doesn't make sense because my GPA is a 3.38 and the lowest it has been is a 3.06 (freshmen year). Does anyone know why they would say I had a GPA below 2.5 when I never did?

For situations such as this, go straight to the primary source with your question. There is a contact email at the bottom.

https://www.cadetcommand.army.mil/scholarships.aspx

Compose a complete email with your full contact information, a concise summary of the situation, an attached copy of your transcript (or the best doc showing HS GPA) and an attached screenshot of the message in the website. Politely request clarification on your eligibility. Thank them.

Let us know how it works out!

Agree with CaptMJ. Follow her instructions above and inquire on why you were disqualified. Hopefully it is an error.

Good luck.

Also, if you have already been in touch with a ROO at your desired college, you could bring your transcript to him/her for review.

100% agree with guidance already shared- go to the source and find out in the manner outlined and quickly/ politely. The only thing I can think to add - it may help to verify which GPA people are referring to - cumulative GPA, senior year GPA, or Q3/ Q4 GPA. Unweighted v Weighted GPA (popcorn shrimp, coconut shrimp...) For any specific slice/ view, are you aware if ANY of those fell below a 2.5 for you? Like did your Q4 or senior year GPA courseload GPA, unweighted, drop below a 2.5? Or, where did your GPA (unweighted) fall below a 2.5 - does that apply to you at all? Just to be clear, I have no data as to what matters but the important thing is that you understand what's being measured, and where you stand. You need to be armed with data to dispel any false concerns. Hopefully this is just a misunderstanding. I have empathy for situation and can only recommend you sort this out pronto - best of luck and keep the board posted on what you find.

They're looking for cumulative GPA. Hopefully, it was just an error!

Its an error. happened to me when I applied. It also might mean it hasn't been approved yet

The window opened on the 12th of June. Every year there are a few kinks in the system. Take a deep breath, don’t panic, make sure you stay in touch with Cadet Command, find a good ROO to help you, and follow instructions. Submit your transcripts as soon as possible so Cadet Command can update and you’ll probably switch over to “eligible” or “interviewee”.
