I think it’s in the 30-40 range per company. You stay together for ac year. The number designation you get over the summer will be your ac year company. So, if you’re 15th platoon, Hotel Company for the summer, you’ll be Fifteenth Company when the year begins. Best of luck.

It seems like there were 12 companies ("A through "L") of Plebes during Plebe Summer, so that would be around 100 per company. Those are further reduced down to Platoon and then squad.

Example:

You are Jane Doe, assigned to E (Echo) Company 9th Platoon 3rd Squad.
Your address would be

MIDN Jane Doe
E Company 9 Platoon 3 Squad
Annapolis, MD. 21412

During reform of the Brigade, you will become part of 9th Company and get a P.O. box number.

The platoons (which are numbered) represent the ac year companies. So, First Platoon Alpha and Second Platoon Alpha will become the plebes in First and Second Company, respectively. I think.

Just to clarify, the 30-40 number is for ac year company, not summer. So, summer company size would be double I suppose.

4400/30 is around 150. So I think there are around that many per Company during the Ac year.

Academy Insider has all the info. i learned so much. Thank you Grant! looking forward to more blogs.
So each "number" has ~40 plebes, and each "letter" has ~80 plebes. You number will become your ac company number after the plebe summer.

(More than anyone probably wants to know):

The Brigade of Midshipmen is limited to 4,400, which gives you four (4) average class sizes of 1,100 Midshipmen, each. The Brigade is then divided into two (2) Regiments of 2,200 Midshipmen each. Each of these Regiments is further divided into three (3) Battalions of fifteen (15) Companies each. Each Company has roughly 140 to 150 Midshipmen in it. Therefore, there are thirty Companies in the Brigade. See below for a more graphic representation (Companies are designated by a "C").

The 30 Companies are further broken down into Platoons, Squads, and Fire Teams. Typically, there are four (4) Platoons in each Company, comprised of three (3) Squads, which contain the smallest unit, called a Fire Team. Typically, a Fire Team is comprised of four (4) Midshipmen. A Squad is composed of one (1) Squad Leader and three (3) Fire Teams. See below for a more graphic representation (Fire Teams are designated by "FT").

Right. But 30 Platoons, which translate to ac year company. So 15 summer companies?

Yes. So if you're in Alpha 2, that means you're in Alpha Company, 2nd Platoon. Alpha 1 will be your sister/brother platoon, in the same company. When plebe summer ends, you'll roll into 2nd Company. Those in Alpha 1 will roll into 1st Company. Make sense?

A typo here, or the “each” is misplaced.
It’s five companies in a Battalion, not fifteen, which of course you correctly show later in the post. Six Batts x 5 Companies gets you to 30.
