Medical Examination nerves?

When a candidate gets an email about the medical exam, will it have to actually be scheduled by the candidate or are they told in the email the date, time and place?

Scheduled by the candidate. They are told which doc to use.

When your application is nearly complete, you will get an email with instructions on how to schedule your medical exam.
Do not procrastinate. There is a time frame in which you must have that exam. They tell you what that is. Do what they tell you.

At what point in the process does the request to start medical reviews typically happen?

If you knock out the “easy stuff”, you will have enough to trigger a DODMERB....for some reason I’m thinking I read that once roughly 50 pct is done. That’s nothing official though. Get your math/english evaluations done, activities record completed, send in transcripts and an SAT/ACT and there you have quite a bit done. DS also has his CFA completed. He received his medical request last week and did his exam yesterday. He still has BGO interview and that big ‘ole personal statement stuff as open items.

Point is, you don’t have to have the whole thing complete to trigger the exam.

Also, the same medical exam is obviously used by all SAs. Thus, if you're further along in the process for another SA, that may trigger DODMERB.
