How difficult is it to get the Army type 1 scholarship? This means full tuition to any school paid.

The Army doesn't have "Type 1" scholarships. From the National Board you may receive a 4 Year Scholarship or a 3 Year Advance Designee scholarship. Neither will pay until you are found fully eligible by the gaining school and The 3AD doesn't start paying until your Sophomore year. When the scholarship is initiated it pays as such

Full Tuition and Fees OR Room & Board ($5,000 a semester)
$600 Per Semester for books
$420 Monthly living stipend (partial months are pro-rated)

You're getting AROTC confused with AFROTC. AFROTC is the only ROTC program that has scholarship types. Most scholarships are NOT type 1.

So Army does not have a scholarship that pays full for everything?

Some schools will pick up room and board for 4 years, even with a 3 year AROTC full tuition scholarship. You can do some research but I know University of Scranton is one of the schools that does this.

All Army Scholarships pay for full tuition, just like an AFROTC type 1 does. If you desire, you can have the scholarship pay for room and board instead. There is no scholarship that cover both tuition and room & board. Some colleges will cover room and board for ROTC students a others have mentioned.

Read the web sites for the various scholarships. This is all fully explained there. You are obviously not doing your homework.

Not difficult if you are a strong candidate: academically in the top tier of your class, high standardized test scores, record of leadership in your activities, ability to score well on the physical fitness test, etc. Read the forum to learn more....and then you can determine how you compare to other candidates with your stats.
Otherwise, it is difficult to tell you how hard is it to get an AROTC scholarship without knowing anything about you or your achievements/scores.
