Tulane vs University of Southern California

@AROTC-dad a storied history indeed. Was just a dig at USC-W. Haven’t seen the PAC-12 make much noise recently in college football. I’m a Bama man so I get a little pompous at times.
We get it, Alabama is a great team. However, I am as sick of them being #1 each year as I am seeing Patriots in the Superbowl. Both great teams, however lets see other team play. Not saying that Alabama could be beaten by any Pac 12 team (although I hope so), but the Pac-12 is strong enough that it is almost impossible for any one team in the Pac-12 to go undefeated.

Seriously, there were years that Oregon or Standord and maybe USC could have taken on Alabama but since they were busy defeating each other, none of them wound up the season undeated and made the top 4

Like the year Oregon beat Auburn or Washington beat Bama? It's hard to argue the Pac-12 is a stronger conference than the SEC. All conferences cannibalize. The teams that win more move on. Those who wave the "We Want Bama" signs really do not. Every year I pray for a Pac-12 team to make the CFP.

I think you misunderstand me. I dont think the Pac-12 is stronger than the SEC, but rather the Pac-12 teams are more equally matched. It is going to be harder for them to go undefeated. I understand the rankings are based on more than being undefeated (see UCF) but it doesnt help when Standford loses to USC or Oregon or visa versa. I mean USC could go undefeated and still get their butts kicked by Alabama but that isnt likely going to happen as USC or whoever will probably lose a game to another PAC-12 team. The real issue is that that top 8 teams should be in the playoffs and maybe include the winners of each conference and of course Notre Dame:)

I’m open to that. I like west coast football. It starts with coaching and recruiting. I’m watching what Cristobal is doing in Eugene. California obviously has the talent but somebody has to convince them not to go to Tuscaloosa, Athens, or Clemson.

My son is at Tulane, NROTC. He's on his 2/C summer cruise right now but if you have questions please let me know and I'll get them answered. He has had an excellent education at Tulane, and the unit is terrific. Tulane does cover room/board for ROTC kids. It's not a "southern" school like Mississippi or South Carolina, but it isn't too far from home, Georgia. I haven't been to USC but I think wouldn't be surprised if the schools are quite different. Tulane is about 7k undergraduates, and NOLA is really not a very big city. Honestly, you have to visit. You will either love it and not be able to get it off your mind, or you will HATE it. (One of my daughters thinks it's a pit! LOL) Best of luck. Tulane, btw, no longer has a 25% admissions rate. It's now in the mid-teens.
