Does anyone know if an AFROTC grad who is waiting for the first assignment is eligible for Space-A travel? Thanks.

Go to this link - https://www.spacea.net/faq/rotc
Additional info that answers your question specifically. Spacea.net is a great resource for space A travel....just have to be flexible as you are the lowest priority.
Thanks for that link. I see that if my son was still a contracted ROTC cadet, his travel would be limited ("b. Category of Travel is Cat 6 and travel is authorized ONLY within and between the CONUS, Alaska, Hawaii and the US. Territories.)
But item c ("If you have been commissioned but waiting for active duty then you are still Cat-VI (have your old Det Commander sign your DD Form 1853") doesn't refer to the location restrictions. I wonder if they open up when they are commissioned and waiting for AD?

The only two places I would go to for the actual, current rules:

1. AMC's travel FAQ's page

2. DODI 4515.13 - the actual authoritative source governing the program.

The last NDAA made changes to the program, so I would not trust anything like spacea.net (a non-DODsite) or military.com (again, a non-DOD site) to have current or accurate information on the program.

I also have found that enforcement of categories, conditions, and travel restrictions varies dramatically from AMC terminal to AMC terminal.
