Navy shoots down Iranian drone

Just read but now can’t find an article that states that Boxer’s embarked Marines jammed and brought down the drone.

yes, i read somewhere that the action to take it down it was electronic and not kinetic

"A new Marine Corps anti-drone system that attaches to all-terrain vehicles and can scan the skies for enemy aircraft from aboard Navy ships was responsible for destroying an Iranian drone, Military.com has learned. The Marine Corps' Light Marine Air Defense Integrated System, known as LMADIS, jammed an Iranian drone that President Donald Trump said flew within 1,000 yards of a Navy warship in the Strait of Hormuz, a defense official said. The official spoke on the condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the mission."

I see on the news that the Iranians deny any drone of theirs has been shot down. Time to get a Navy dive team in place to retrieve that sucker.

My guess is that the Iranian drone cost 1000 while the US drone shot done was in the millions of dollars.

The US Drone was a modified Global Hawk which is a huge airplane that can and does self deploy across the ocean and stay aloft for over 24 hours per mission while carrying thousands of lbs of mission equipment. It is toally an apples and oranges comparison with Iran's drone.

@THParent What rifle is that in the pic. It's almost as long as it's holder!
