...is a bad ass and maybe both are.

The reason we didn't hear about this before, e.g., interviews on all the talk shows and book deals is that MARSOC was the organization involved.

USSOCOM surely gets their money's worth with these fellas.
 
I am often shocked at the lack of OPSEC among SOF, though the SEALS shouldn’t surprise me.
My time in SOCOM is dated- mid to late 90’s. But OPSEC was paramount. Once I was verbally counseled when my wife was overheard telling another officer that I was “out of town”. Nothing more, just “out of town”.
On another occasion I had a mission cancelled for some reason. A week later I found out why- an interview with a high ranking SEAL appeared in a magazine where he discussed the upcoming classified mission.

Sometimes I wish we would take a cue from the Israelis and STFU.
