AROTC Board 2

28 Superscore, 3.7 GPA, Club President, Student Government, JROTC Battalion Commander, Varsity Letter, 3 year competing member on Raiders, 3 year academic team member, 5:28 mile, 54 pushups, 59 crunches, and a stellar interview. The competition must be fierce this year. I’m worried about getting anything at all.

That might be the fastest mile I’ve seen.

Congratulations to all scholarship winners. My DS received scholarships to top three schools including a highly ranked private university in the South. It's a long arduous process and can sometimes be discouraging. For all applicants still waiting on word best of luck and hang in there. There will be plenty of openings for the third board. Many of yesterday's scholarship recipients (dislike the word "winner in this context) will opt for SA or another ROTC program.

I have a 29 ACT, (32 in English, 25 in Math, 32 in reading, 25 in science) 3.4 uw GPA 3.72 weighted

Eagle scout, 4 year varsity and letterman in Lacrosse, Freshman mentor, Freshman Mentor executive board, 2x Club president, beta club member, Order of the Arrow Brotherhood and Chapter Chief, Boys State delegate and Boys Nation alternate, worked a job since I was a sophomore, held a student body position, had a very good PMS interview.

I was told I'd get at least a 3 year AD offer... but here we are
I am sending you positive vibes. I really think you will get an offer.

Seems like all of us have similar stats, activities, etc. and were told that we'd get offers but like MNRC2018 said - "here we are". We still have one board to go and I am not giving up hope. If I am not fortunate enough to win a National Scholarship I will still be attending Norwich as a member of their Corp of Cadets and will bust my butt to win a campus based ROTC scholarship.

When my DS interviewed at Texas A&M last fall, the ROO told him that this was an incredibly competitive year and that he had already interviewed a superb group of applicants. The ROO told him also that even though my DS's scores, EC's, athletics, and everything else were very good; not to count on being awarded a scholarship due to the intense competition this particular year. For those of you who didn't receive positive news yet, please try to take some solace in the fact that this year was an extremely strong applicant pool from what we were told.

It’s ok, just keep going. I’m in the same situation as you.
Im in Varsity Track and Field, Unit Commander of my JROTC unit, President of a School Club, over 120 hours of community service, Commander of Drill Team, received 4 national recognition awards within JROTC, one was from Headquarters themselves, 570 on English SAT, 570 Math SAT, nearly perfect essay scores for SAT, 24 ACT, 11/12 on the writing ACT thus I believe my Essays for AROTC were very well written
Very Good PMS interview
3.3 GPA U/W, 3.5 Weighted
I was contacted by a Unit where the PMS told me they’re interested and believe I have good stats to earn me a scholarship
I really hope I get some good news soon, I’m sure you’ll get something soon. You seem very well rounded and seem to be an outstanding candidate

Great stats with all the ROTC National recognition too!! Great work

Great to know!! As usual the luck of the draw and good timing never seem to align. Jeez

Her top three choices say pending acceptance. Does that mean she can choose from all three??
Your DS was awarded the scholarship to the 3 schools listed in the award notice. She can choose from those 3 options. You have 30 days to make the selection so hopefully she will hear from the admissions departments prior to that. Congrats!

Do you think all winners have been announced for 2nd board? Any chance any others will come out today?
