So I just finished my medical exam and during the exam the doctor wanted to view my **REMOVED** and **REMOVED** and then asked me to bend over 90 degrees for a hernia exam. So we got real personal in that room so I’m just checking if that’s normal or did he just violate me. I think it’s normal he was mostly professional so I’m just wondering. Somebody please give insight did this happen to you.

Completely normal for your DODMERB exam. Might have been uncomfortable but it happens to every male.

Hernia exams are normal. I am not a lawyer, but if you feel as though you were violated you should seek advice from the proper authorities.

No I don’t think that’s necessary just a little shocked I never had the doctor ask to see my dick and tell me to bend over.😂 But it was uncomfortable for him too and I could tell he just wanted to get it over with. I’m good just wanted to check if he was doing any “unauthorized” examinations.

Mayo Clinic and many other reputable sites have descriptions of routine male and female physical exam elements. I added the WebMD one below, as the clearest “layman language” description. It’s a norm for adult males

Adult females have similar invasive checks. It’s all part of good health maintenance.

We are not in the age of Star Trek tricorders and medical scanners to completely replace those elements yet.

I’m surprised you haven’t been checked like that. It’s a standard physical exam piece.

As you prepare to transition into adulthood, you may wish to choose different words to describe your anatomy. What you bluntly described, is an appropriate part of the medical exam as the physician is looking for genital and anal anomalies of medical significance :wiggle:

Good, I'm not alone in thinking the same thing about the choice of words.
