Academy vs. ROTC

HELPP!! My son just got a call from the NROTC, stating they would like to meet with him and give us info re:NROTC. Concern is, my son has applied to USNA and is waiting to hear of appointment...he dosen't remember signing up for NROTC on-line, how did NROTC get his info? Did the USNA share it with the NROTC? Relax! The first thing I was asked by every SA rep. was if I was applying to ROTC as well. They assume that you are interested in the Academy because you want to serve, and ROTC is another great path to that. I believe NROTC and USNA do share information.
 
Did the USNA share it with the NROTC? Yes.
If so, was it the academy's way of saying he is not going to get an appointment? No.
 
Thank you Vamp and Just a MOM...I feel better now...he is just concerned if the Academy hears of this they will assume he has changed his mind and delay or even pull a possible appointment for him...we are very new to this...so any info you can share with us is much appreciated...have a lovely day all!!
 
I was just talking to a mid who is concerned about a "draft" at USNA for subs. I don't know of any similar practices within NROTC for filling sub slots at service selection time. That may a consideration for your son.
 
Thanks Sealion...I appreciate any input....not sure what the "subs" entale...however, I am sure he will know...something to definitely consider!!:smile:
