Hi everyone. I just received my ACT scores back from earlier this October, and when I superscored three separate tests, my final score came out to a 29. I know USAFA has changed their requirements concerning these exams, but I am still worried about my score. I was planning to retake my exam in December, but my test date was cancelled due to COVID. Is this still a good score despite the pandemic?

I have not gotten my scores yet from late September (at school), it is so frustrating!!

The test was a nightmare, they made us keep masks on and it was hard to concentrate. I tried to sign up for December as soon as they opened it here and it was already full because of limited seating. I am sooo frustrated. I took it once in early junior year and got a 26. I considered that my “practice test”. I went to tutoring, group and individual, and did a full length practice and got a 31. I was all ready for March...and April...and May, June, July and August. All canceled.

I have a 3.8 unweighted, 4.6 weighted, lots of leadership, multi-sport varsity athlete, tons of activities, maxed CFA (I am female) except for BB throw, had awesome recs, and besides waiting for scores and a nomination, finished my entire application 6 weeks before it was due. I am starting to regret not selecting Early Decision on my Ivy app. No other schools are looking at scores this year. The advantage goes to those who either live somewhere that was less affected or those who have the time and money to travel to take the test.

Sorry for venting, but that sure felt good. Hoping I get my score this week and it will be over 30. 😏🙏🏼

And I think you are ok with a 29 if your other stuff is up to speed! Especially this year!!

That's really impressive! And yeah, venting always helps. Good luck!

You say that its full "here" and I presume that means at your school. What about other testing centers?

Within 2 hours from my home...nothing. The school/district had a test in late September for the seniors. Most people have already gotten scores from that, I did not. I called and was told to allow 8 weeks and if I haven’t heard to call back. I considered traveling and spending the night in another state but I was in XC and the season just ended. Depending on my score when I get it...I may have to do that.

It's the same issue for me. I'd have to drive 7 hours to get to the nearest testing facility.

29 is a respectable score by any measure, and let's face it, if you've already taken it 3 times, the odds are you would not be dramatically increasing your score if you were to take it again. My guess is that because of the pandemic, the 29 becomes not just respectable, but relatively speaking, it transforms into an excellent score (so many of our fellow applicants are still desperately trying to get one under their belt and may even be stuck with just psat scores). Good luck!
