YUP! What will happen to liberty? What if this continues - what will happen to A-N game. SIGH......

USMA/USAFA football game was also canceled the weekend. DS was disappointed. Hope they get the A-N game in.

I was looking at schedules and rescheduling the Army vs Air Force game is going to be tough. They are either going to have to move around some games, play after Army Navy or canx a conf game. Not sure how the Mountain West will feel about that. I hope they do play!

It seems this weekend has quite a few games COVID impacted. I think we will see more and more of them as conferences and teams are running out of calendar space to make adjustments. It’s a year like no other!

No more liberty for the Brigade after this weekend for the remainder of the semester too with the exception of Thanksgiving. Sucks for sure but they’re trying to prevent a huge outbreak from keeping the Brigade from leaving for winter break.

A lot of high schools also cancelled. It’s state championship time and we had a viable team drop out.

Lots going around social media about the Halloween parties attended en masse. I’m not surprised there are outbreaks from the HS party pics I saw. It’s tough. Kids have to want it. But also want to be kids....

Parents across the nation are thankful for the efforts of all, especially Mids, to get our people home for break. We miss you IMMENSELY!!

I wonder if the powers that be, will re-think having the brigade attending the A-N game? Or if it’s a 100pct done deal. Seems like things are on the uptick lately.

As a grad (with a husband who is a grad of a rival service academy), our family is very aware of the importance of army-navy. That said, if they've gotten to the point that they're threatening to keep mids there for Christmas if the virus spreads--which they have--it's time to canx A/N and send kids home while they're still testing negative. Just my own opinion, but mental health needs to become a priority at some point.

Hearing January is possible...

Could be for the CIC trophy.

Who could have ever imagined, pre-covid, Mids traveling to WP, in January, to play. Some in YP’s (as that’s happening...navy right up the Hudson!). I hardly shake my head anymore but sometimes I still find an occasion to do so. Like this one 😱

Just saw the Memphis game this weekend has also been postponed. Hope the players and all Mids are able to recover and have no residual issues.

Is it time to just shut it all down? Especially considering that off yard liberty has been shut down?

I don’t see any reason to shut it down, but that is just my personal opinion and that is worth zero. I think as we get closer to the end of the year we are going to see more and more games canx. More teams are playing now, people are getting more relaxed with protocols and calendar space is running out.

Not sure what you are asking here.

Shut football down? Maybe, lets see where it goes. There are lots of folks in the program who have worked and sweated for years and this might be their last chance ever to play.

Shut USNA down and send the mids home? Not only no but HELL NO! It isn't fun and it isn't easy but going to USNA via ZOOM (virtual USNA) is a poor replacement for actual USNA even if they are ZOOMing classes from Bancroft Hall. Guys on ships, Marine Bases, Embassies, etc all around the world are not being sent home because of COVID and you can be assured that many/most of them are not getting liberty and/or leave as they would in normal times.

I'm guessing all Navy games will be canceled until Dec 11th. And Army might do the same.

Definitely not shut USNA down. When my mid was home for his extended spring/summer break, he enjoyed his time at home and was a little apprehensive to go back. However, when he returned to USNA, he quickly realized how much he missed it and how much he was where he was supposed to be.

I'm hoping this newly imposed 7 day ROM as of 1800 yesterday for the entire Brigade will preserve Christmas break.
