The short answer is very competitive. You might consider Infantry to be the Flagship Branch of the Army. An engineering major will only help to the extent that your GPA would be given a slight bump over other majors. How much? I don't know. The major itself wouldn't matter to the branch. Remember there is more to one's OML than the GPA.How competitive is it to branch infantry? GPA-wise? Would being an engineer put me ahead of my peers for this?
This is the first year of talent based branching. But if I was choosing future Infantry officers I’d look at GPA, ACFT score, Ranger Challenge participants, tall, and with good hair.
That’s just the kind of detail I was talking about.tall, and with good hair.
I thought I’d fallen into a “I want to be a Navy SEAL” thread. This is the first year of talent based branching. But if I was choosing future Infantry officers I’d look at GPA, ACFT score, Ranger Challenge participants, tall, and with good hair.
