Advanced Standing

From 2020 summer Sideload and AS boards:

YG21 1-year AS: 10 nominations/10 selects
YG22 2-year AS: 68 nominations/66 2-yr AS selects/1 Provisional AS select/1 non-select

I'm sure all those awarded AS worked very hard at academics, physical fitness, and within unit assigned roles. Work hard and the chances for AS look pretty good.

There’s both one and two year advanced standing? I was completely unaware of this.

@Braves fan I've actually never heard of provisional advanced standing either. Of course the snide/humorous and obvious remark is to say it's provisional. :D However, I'm willing to venture a guess. I would think it's someone who, after sophomore year, they aren't willing to give up on nor are they willing to obligate themselves to commissioning that person. So it would be someone on the cusp. The small numbers mentioned earlier would seem to confirm that. I expect it's a very rare thing, which also explains why I've never heard of it.

Provisional and the 1-year are relatively new (2 or 3 years old). As @kinnem points out, it's that bridge to get you from being passed for the 2-year and give you another shot at scholarship or the 1-year AS. I'll post some numbers from the 2020 boards in a moment.
