USNA 2025 Waiting and....Waiting

Thank you for posting this. It does give some peace of mind with the renewed hope.
To the extent it is helpful or informative, our son is a college reapplicant, which is another way of saying that he was denied last year. Last year it seemed like they held loads of applications (apps that seemed competitive?) until around the first week of April, and then the flood gates opened with TWEs, as well as appointments and waiting lists. As of the second week of April they were almost entirely done, and that's when our son got his denial. My uneducated view of this is that the longer you go without a TWE the better, and the more "likely" it is that they may find a spot.

And as the parent of a kid who didn't find his spot last year, my little piece of unsolicited advice is to encourage your sons and daughters to consider the virtues and awesomeness of all the great Plan Bs and Cs and Ds, because the options these kids have actually are great. Regardless of appointment or no appointment, they've been through an incredible journey in 2020/2021, and I'm impressed by everyone that's just kept moving forward. I think I always will be. Well done seniors, and well done parents.

My Admissions contacts (friends in low places) tell me that snail mail notification is being sent today but there is a shortage of "forever" stamps in Annapolis.

April Fools!! Good luck to those still waiting.
OMG.... It has been *that* kind of day and I read this with a "for real?!?!?" kind of face... Yeah, you got me. I think we may all be getting a bit delirious. hahahah Thanks for the chuckle!

I’m a mom and I’m even answering my phone, as if they’ll somehow call me by mistake lol. So far today, I’ve taken a call about my warranty and one from social security...
.
Ya .... I keep getting that call from the Social Security Administration ... some 888-number and such ...

I always call them back just wanting to talk ... so-on and such ... but it’s always some guy from India who is not very friendly.
.

Well does anyone know how much thought and work does USNA Admissions put into an application? In other words, how many layers does an application typically travel through before a decision is made?

this year, as of this morning, only 1 out of more than a dozen candidates i've interviewed who are 'complete pending review' has received a decision
Is “complete pending review” displayed as “100% Complete (in green circle) Congratulations! Your application is under review?” TIA.

Yes, after your application is complete and submitted, it then is in queue for review and the admissions board.

I always picture the SS guy, practicing with his mean voice, in front of a mirror. I think it's reality show-worthy to find that guy!

Waiting for the past three years has been the hardest thing in my life. As an optimistic person I always look at the bright side of a situation and keep my head up. However, it is important to be honest with oneself and prepare for the worst. Despite the high SAT scores, thousands of volunteer hours, being at the top of my class, perfect college GPA pursuing three degrees, and a lot of other things, I still understand how competitive the admissions process is in my area. As is always included under my post, "Success is not final, failure is not fatal; it is the courage to continue that counts." No matter what decision you receive, keep pushing every day to make yourself better and you will be amazed at the things you can accomplish.

We checked DS portal and still shows application submitted. Does this mean it has not yet been open and in review? Does this mean anything or are we reading too much into it t being opened yet?
