DS is a freshman at The Citadel and a 3 year advance designee for AROTC scholarship. His DODMRB file has been active since Dec 2019 and is currently still showing under waiver review. DODMERB has indicated that all can be done is hurry up and wait. There has been correspondence- a number of requests for AMI and 2 remedials- both complete Dec 2020. The last request was for an AMI 2/25/21 and it has been back "Under Waiver Review" since.
We try not to check the portal obsessively but thats's hard to do when you know tuition will be due soon for the upcoming year. Is there any recommendation of what more can be done proactively? Is there any history that indicates how frequently they process or evaluate files?
Anyone else in a similar paralyzed state of waiting?

Very similar story here with my DD. My reco. is to send a note to Mr. Mullen just to ask him if there is anything else you need to do for DoDMERB. He will probably respond and copy the officials at the Service Academies/ROTC for an update. That at least puts your case fresh in their minds as they will respond to his emails.

MOM: Google "DoDMERB;" Hit "Questions on the process;" Read paragraph #4.

DS : Send me an email: lawrence.e.mullen.civ@mail.mil; provide complete name and last 4 SSN; provide the text of your Parent's posting above to YOUR email. The subject line of the email should be ArmyBratArmyMom= “SAF=Under Waiver Review .“ Do NOT imbed links in your email as I will not be able to view those. :wiggle:

ArmyBratArmyMom= Never mind. I just spoke with him . He understands all :wiggle:

My DD has just received waiver clearance for both the USCGA and the NROTC scholarship at Villanova. She was waitlisted at USNA and will see what comes of that, but she now has 2 solid choices for her future. It was a very long road to get the waivers, but I will bring up the old adage - "the wheels turn slowly, but they do turn".

Thanks to Mr. Mullen for guiding her though the process and providing help when needed. Quite simply, he gets things done - glad you are there.

((P.S. If she does get a positive word from USNA, she may need to contact him again about waivers))

Aloha!
DS’s waiver cleared today 27th April. Last entry on DODMERB was 1Dec20... 5 months ago. Mr. Mullen facilitated the process today involving five action personnel between DODMERB and USNA. Contact Mr. Mullen directly.

Congratulations to your DD. Thank you for sharing your journey. It is a stressful but worthwhile journey.

Congrats to your DS @Banzaipipeline! What a relief I am sure.
Each story here give me hope it will process. @MullenLE was so responsive and connected with my DS straight away assuring us that additional steps are in process. There is some peace of mind just knowing there is someone that can helps us keep track on if things are continuing to move. I am sure COVID has provided additional challenges for all of these matters and I believe the fear is that there may be something else we could be doing yet be unaware of it. DS has been excelling at the Citadel with gold stars and appointed to regimental staff for next year. He wants so badly to stay there and serve in the US Army like both of his grandfathers. Out of state tuition is no joke without assistance.
