"Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens" A few of your favorite things (to counter the Petty Grudge thread)

1. Bacon (the sound of it sizzling, the smell of it, the taste, and just the very sight of it makes me happy)
2. The smell of Play-Doh.
3. The smell of my shotgun after firing a shotshell.
4. Tequila.
5. Silk.
6. Kids playing in the yard (the sound, not the smell)
7. The feeling I get when I hear the words "I love you too, Papa."
8. Tangerine anything.
9. My baseball glove I used to catch a fly ball at Wrigley Field.
10. The kick I get when my wife looks at me after all these years and still genuinely likes me.

Christmas morning, whether abundant or sparse, still Christmas morning.
Picking up where we left off when we haven't talked in months (best friend)
Finding and identifying a new bird for my life list (typically when I'm alone, and it is such a joy to me)
Seeing the 'aha' moment on my student's face, or them coming to me months later and saying, Mrs. G, you were right.
Good, strong black coffee spooned over good quality vanilla ice cream.
Perfectly crisp bacon
My dog's tail beating the basil bush at the back door when I get home. The whole area is perfumed with basil, and my dog is happy to see me.
This thread, the SAF, and the friends and mentors I've made here. And the thousands of things I've learned here.

-Getting a handwritten letter in the mail.
-Nice warm fire and fuzzy socks after a fun day out in the snow
-The sound and smell of the ocean, kids laughing in the water while wave jumping.
-Hugs...unexpected BIG Bear Hugs from my either of my 2 DS or DH

Can I just say again I love the thread? Reading all of your “these are a few of my favorite things” makes me grateful.

It encourages me to find the things that I love that make me happy, no matter how small. Reading the things ya’all appreciate and love made my heart swell. In this difficult time and world, finding things we love that bring us joy that we can share with others is priceless.
Thanks for continuing to share.

Strong black coffee.
Hearing "Saints win it."
The sound of my wife's power tools, during one of her DIY projects.
Snakes.
The smell of good bourbon.
Watching "the light come on" in one of my students, when they finally "get it."
All audio generated by my wife and kids, around the house.
Again...snakes.

Finding cashmere gloves & scarves at the thrift store. After washing and blocking I rehome them to friends who have jobs that involve a walk-in freezer and they love them. I buy any scarves that are 100% wool too but cashmere is like heaven and so warm. I try to get a stash when they put the winter stuff out once a year.
My favorite comforter. It is 20 years old and I keep having to sew up the seams. I have always hated the colors (it was a gift) but it is the coziest blanket ever. :)
