Does the Naval Academy put on a special celebration for the plebes for the 4th of July?

For plebes, I think the "fireworks" actually start just after the Bancroft Hall doors close on I-day. Just kidding. I imagine something special will be done for the entering Class of '25. This 4th of July is cause for celebration for many.

Yes, they get to do PEP in the morning! Plus all the other fun and informational plebe activities throughout the day!

In past years, when there were fireworks over Annapolis Harbor, plebes had a bbq meal out on Farragut Field.
 
DD recalls how pleasant and fun the fireworks show was. Plebe summer had barely been underway for a week. It was a much-needed respite after the shell shock of the first few days. She and some shipmates actually got to relax long enough to talk with each other. Some common bonds were identified that evening.
 
The fireworks aren’t compliments of USNA, but rather Annapolis. So watch for City updates as far as what will be happening fireworks-wise. As the Governor lifted all restrictions yesterday, my guess would be yes! I suspect the 4th of July will be particularly significant all over the nation this year...a most symbolic “end” of the pandemic ♥️🇺🇸💙
