Oh my, he sounds just like my boy I love my lovely weirdo as well and I hope that you keep posting about your sons journey in the Naval Academy forums on here.We knew it was a shot in the moon as there were two openings and we knew 2 already got it and the Sen didnt want to double nom in our district. Two well deserving kids.
My son is super happy w the Naval Academy, he loved his CVW visit ti USNA, you grow where you are planted and Navy wanted him for nrotc and SA. Sometimes the path lays in front of you and thee is ko need to fight it.
When i asked him about USAFA and which one he preferred he said it : I am very happy with USNA and since USAFA didnt come into play and the choice was made foe me i have no need to spend energy on something that is settled. I can serve, fly and pursue my degree in either one.
And that will be the one and only time we will ask him that.
It was hard during HS time and thru this for my wife and I to try to have 0 influence of his choice of ROTc vs SA or AF vs Navy or just civilian life as he is the one who has to make the commitment.
He is very pragmatic. I didnt ask him again.
Like when just for curiosity i asked him what if u get one prep school and one SA…. He said when and if that choice arrives i ll think about it, right now there is no point on using energy on that i got plenty school work etc to stay busy.
He is a weirdo… a lovely weirdo lol but i love how he doesnt let many things bother him or throw him off his path.
He is pleased we are pleased w him and his choice….. his sister already told him i am your first plus 1 for the dance and make sure your midship mates are cute and nice lol
0 regrets.
Now all we can do is Beat Army !!! And AF
Ps: thank you for your kind words
I think all sisters are the same, at the beginning of this process my daughter told my son that he needed to get in and make friends so one of them could take her to the military ball, because she's always dreamed of going.
