Hi there, USAFApa!

I'm a currently a firstie (senior) and I am about to graduate in a month. I'm a NW Prepster myself, and took the same path as your DS as I also did not receive a Falcon Scholarship. At NWP, those who didn't receive a Falcon Scholarship and went on their own were "free agents." We consider ourselves a special breed! ;) NWP was, hands down, the BEST decision of my life. The friends I made, opportunities I received, and experience of being away from home (I'm a Maine-ah!) were invaluable, and I honestly believe I wouldn't be here getting ready to graduate without the Durbecks and NWP. Your son is going to have the most amazing experiences and will become an incredible young man during his time there.

Thank you so much for the kind words and encouragement!! We are excited for this path for my DS!
 
Question for those reapplying to USAFA c/o 2027- when you start the process again, does the information transfer to the new application from the old one?

I wanted to let you know my DS had an amazing experience at NWP, made lifelong friendships and the Durbeck’s were the best! He gained so much from being there this past fall 22’. The best news is he received his USAFA appointment and will be part of co2027. ♥️

This made my heart swell. I still talk with all the 21'class and we really did help each other out. Plus out class president is one of the NWPers (I had to brag). Can't wait to welcome him in!
 
Can someone explain why the SA's Prep Schools get their appointments so late in the game?

I am guessing, its because if they complete the Prep in good standing, have the required GPA, and get a nomination, then they are in all reality "automatically" accepted to the AF Acadamy. There is no vetting process they need to go through. But this is just my guess. :)
 
Does anyone know how long it takes from my Congressman to call me about me about my appointment to the offer showing up in my portal?
