My son is a Marine Option in the NROTC unit at University of South Carolina. He is a sophomore currently serving as Platoon Sergeant an his billet next semester is company XO. He did not win an NROTC scholarship but joined the unit as a College Programmer. U of SC was his first choice school as well. He won an NROTC scholarship this past December. NROTC has been the best thing to ever happen to my son. He has far exceeded all my expectations in college and I have no doubt it's due to his participation in the NROTC unit. I keep up with the activities of the unit and how things work there as best I can through him. If you have any questions please feel free to PM me. They're doing a brief video to introduce all the freshman orientation leaders... he'll be the one wearing a uniform!
