    Thanks for all the wonderful info on GMC, your comments helped my son decide it was the right place for him. A question about the packing list...it calls for a footlocker and I'm trying to decice whether to buy a cheap one or invest in quality. Is this something he will need to bring to WP next year? Thanks!

    Clip on. We got one on amazon. He also took a monitor for his laptop and that helped alot. He used a 13" MacBook, but most kids had non-apple. He bought a fridge the next week and snacks. He needed new running shoes by Thanksgiving. Also take an extension cord.

    Got it! GMC just announced that there will not be a reception dinner when the scholars arrive and I wonder if parents weekend will be cancelled as well. Fun times.

    We attended the reception dinner and it was nice. We got to meet several staff and a few cadets, but we would have been ok without it. They did a parents weekend in Oct and it was the first one they ever did. It was nice as well. Not many parents went to the parents weekend. He will be fine. They will keep the cadets at GMC on lockdown. I am excited for you and your son.
