  • Hello, I am a senior Marine-option Midshipmen. I know it's a little late in the game but I am beginning to realize that the Army would be a much better fit for me (for the reasons of MOS choices and how they relate to my major). Is there any way to cross-commission or DOR with the intention of commissioning into another surface without accruing debt? Thank you.
Hello, I just submitted my application for the 4 year scholarship. I have a 4.0 with 15 credit hours (electrical engineering major) Does having a college transcript started help your chances? I also submitted my CAP awards and recommendation letters (one from my grandfather who was a Navy officer). Do these help as well?

Being a naval officer is my all time goal, and I see that advanced standing and sideload scholarships are growing but still are slim from what I've heard. (Also I am entering as a college program for now)

Having a college transcript itself doesn't help or hurt, it's all a matter of the grades that are on it. With regard to advanced standing, the large majority of people who applied for it received it this year. Yes, side loads are much more competitive. You should speak with your NROTC advisor regarding your path/chances for a scholarship.

    Hello,
Is there any way I'd be able to find out about if I got the 3 year scholarship or do I need to talk to my battalion advisor?

You need to contact your Battalion COC.
    Sir,
Thank you very much for all the information on my post about the 2-Yr/Advanced Standing. There was so much information I was unaware of and unable to find!

Is there any way I can PM you with some more questions regarding the two and three year scholarship board?

You need to go through your unit/chain of command if you have further concerns or questions about your package or your chances.
Hello. After reviewing threads past couple of months it seems like you have a lot of helpful information for many of us new to the process. Is it possible to ask a question regarding nrotc scholarship on this message board or should I post it on a new thread? Thanks!

I would just create a new thread on the ROTC board if it's something that can benefit the group, or if it's a direct question you can always send me a PM.
