  • I have a question about AFROTC. My son will be going to CO School of Mines after receiving his TWE today from USAFA. They offer AFROTC, however, my son has never applied for ROTC or been a part of it. Is it too late for him to be a part of ROTC? Can you give me more information? I know he wants to reapply for USAFA next year and I am thinking that being a part of AFROTC will help his chances. Thank you!!

So ROTC at the school of mines is the same program at CU Boulder that I'm in. It's a great program here and it's definitely not too late to join ROTC. It is too late to apply for the scholarship but there are chances to be awarded scholarships in college and your son can apply for USAFA next year if he still wants to do that.

I would suggest that your son look up the AFROTC program at CU Boulder and look for how to join. It's a great program and I hope he is still interested in pursuing the Air Force. Feel free to ask me more about ROTC, applying to USAFA while in ROTC, or your son can ask me any questions he has. Hope I was able to help a bit!
