    I think you have a shot. My DS interviewed at the school which he wanted to attend (which was VMI). It wasn't convenient but I think it helped get him a scholarship and it showed that he was serious about wanting a military career. If you've not been in contact with a VMI PMS or Citadel PMS I'd introduce myself, via email, and explain my desires.

    Thank you much for the encouragement. I plan on talking to PMS and track/XC coaches at both schools. Do you have any other advice for me that would make me stand out a little more to the board? I know there isn't too much to do at this point, but doing something just makes me feel better.

    At this point I think the ball is mostly in their court. Remember that if a 4 year scholarship doesn't come your way a 3 or 3 1/2 year one is possible. If you have any VMI questions feel free to ask away.
