    Branch night C/O 23

Whoops, should've noticed that... saw 2022 and stopped reading 🤦‍♂️ Thanks for the correction, sorry to be inadvertently spreading misinformation!

    Branch night C/O 23

AOG has data on preferences, though they're saying 1,026 for class size and still seem to have the wrong number for Armor, per BellPepper. Other numbers are different from the ones the Army posted as well. Last year they also gave different numbers from the ones posted to westpoint.edu.

    Scouting at USMA

Had the opportunity to speak with my Regional Commander at an admissions event this evening, who indicated that there was some opportunity for participation in Scouts at West Point. Obviously, cadets are extremely busy and time off-post is limited, but does anybody have any experience/knowledge...

    Validating IB Classes

As in, using a high score on an AP exam to not have to take a class in college. USMA has information on it here, though I haven’t been able to find many specifics about validating IB classes. I’ve spoken to a current Cow who validated a few AP courses, but wasn’t sure about validating IBs.

    Validating IB Classes

Good morning, all. Does anybody know which departments at USMA will validate AP courses but not IB's? Current cadets, are there any specific courses that you would recommend trying to validate?

    Army Max Age

Correct, that is the maximum age that one may enlist at. The mandatory retirement age for officers is 62, other than general officers (O-7 and above), for whom it is 64. This can be deferred to 66 or 68 by the SECDEF or POTUS, respectively. There are also mandatory retirements for those who...

    PE Evaluation Issue

Per page eight of the instructions for applicants, the hierarchy would be health teacher, athletic director, then CFA administrator. I suppose you'd need to have your CFA administrator do it, and hope that they'd gotten a good idea of your fitness from testing you.

    What to do after USMA?

Thank you for jumping on that, seem to be misremembering things. Sorry to be spreading misinformation!

    What to do after USMA?

Per a cadet I know, it’s quite easy to branch infantry- it’s in low demand due to the US being at peace, though I suppose that could change given how things are shaping up. I’ve also seen pictures from post night of people picking 75th (possibly as support), so definitely possible coming out of...

Are waivers ever available for weight, based on body fat percentage, body type, or level of fitness?

    USAFA Applications down 27.6%?

All of this brings to mind an old TED Talk I recently watched… Here’s hoping society can find a way to turn things around, although I wouldn’t count on it.

    USAFA Applications down 27.6%?

Ditto to the above, I'm admittedly only a rising junior but have been getting a lot of (e)mail from USMA (possibly in part due to expressed interest), a bit here and there from USNA, and absolutely nothing from USAFA.

    Confused LOR Question

Per page five of the instructions for applicants, the hierarchy would be health teacher, CFA administrator, then athletic director.

Gotcha, not much of a distance guy so thank you for the reassurance! How long are the usual rucks and what is the expected pace?

    Scouts after Eagle?

Thank you for the advice- planning on doing NYLT this summer. If the option is open to me, I'll also consider joining the training staff. Did your DS ever do NAYLE as well, and, if so, what was his experience like there?

    Scouts after Eagle?

Thank you for your perspective on this- I'll definitely keep all of that in mind when the time comes to make my decision.

    Scouts after Eagle?

Thank you all for your advice! I'm in the final stages of planning my Eagle Project, just fighting through the bureaucracy... Philmont is definitely on my radar and I'm planning on attending some leadership schools such as NYLT or NAYLE in the next year or two. I may also look into positions in...

    Scouts after Eagle?

Current HS Sophomore here planning to apply to USMA next year. I'm in Scouts and close to earning Eagle, and I was wondering about how much weight WP and the SA's in general give to advancement after earning ones Eagle Scout- for those familiar, things like Eagle Palms, continued leadership in...
