    4-Year NROTC Scholarship Acceptance Thread

I was originally told that this included all cross town colleges but people have been shifting around a bit so there might be hope. But San Diego is always very popular as is ERAU because of their higher than average selection rate for aviation.

NROTC Selection Results Just Posted 3/15/23 pm

Putting a little less data in this go round because we're chomping down to the last boards here and that takes some work. And my peaceful spring break is screeching to a halt as various students are wandering back on campus and yelling and screaming, which is distracting.... We are now up to...

    NROTC Questions re NSI

For NSI, it would be best to reach out to the unit for advice. Their HR person can also advise on process for DODMERB. It starts with creation of a DODMETS account. As for the orthodontics, I wish Mr. Mullen were still here as he would be the best one to speak with.

There are no 3 year announcements that are going out. So it is absolutely a 4 year scholarship.

    Do schools know?

The other thing I would chip in here is that larger universities will tend to defer to the various Deans of Schools. Using GWU as an example, one of their premier schools is the Elliot School of International Affairs. If you can picture GW being in the middle of DC, and all of the various...

    Graduated but not commissioned.

This concerns me a little. Generally speaking, NROTC scholarship monies and GI Bill do not mix, and that is by federal statute. Also, he can use an NROTC scholarship at a host institution or the affiliated cross town or consortium units. But he cannot be attending a non affiliated university...

    Graduated but not commissioned.

From the initial notification to him of the PRB, he has 5 days to prepare or he can request an extension if needed for good cause. Once the board is completed and he is notified in writing of the results, he has 5 days to appeal in writing. But if NSTC is reviewing this then it sounds like...

Bring records of preemptive testing done to DoDmerb exam?

Not sure if the original treating physician is willing to state, but if in hindsight, the belief is that she NEVER had asthma, then that is what needs to be stated, unequivocally. Something like "Original diagnosis of asthma was precautionary......review of overall history shows Pt never had...

NROTC 4 YEAR SCHOLARSHIP BOARD DATES FOR NEW SEASON (2023-2024)

The current season for NROTC scholarship boards will close out next month. The NETFOCUS website will be down for a couple days and then reset with the new season's information. Some of you are early bird types and have been doing a lot of advanced work. So, in case it interests you, please...

    Do schools know?

For the NROTC side, most schools rely on the ROTC unit to inform them of the scholarship. I don't know if this is the same for ARTOC or AFROTC. I believe you can contact the admissions office and ask if you can submit the email or letter offering the scholarship. It makes a difference for...

    NROTC Alternate Chances and Timeline

Board results from last week should be in front of the Admiral by middle of this week and "hopefully" notifications go out Thursday or Friday. There has been a delay in notifications for alternates due to a ripple effect of service academy appointment notifications which was due to the DODMERB...

    NROTC ✔️ Acceptance letter ✔️

If DODMERB cleared and NSI is completed, then the Supply Technician for the unit will request an invoice from the university Bursar. The university will "usually" stop asking for money as they know the Navy will eventually pay the bill.

    NROTC ✔️ Acceptance letter ✔️

If she received a scholarship AND cleared DoDMERB, then the fee "might" be covered by the scholarship depending on how the invoice is submitted to the unit. But if the university lists it as a separate fee, then the student (parent) typically pays that out of pocket. The unit should notify the...

    NPP scholarship awarded

If it is from the PNS then you should be good to go. There is a board in April that will give an administrative review of those packages but they are never rejected at the board. I believe the 2 week notice is set by the university because they are the entity that funds the tuition in the...

Before I get into more detail in terms of an answer, do you mind confirming who made the award announcement? Was it the PNS, or the university, or Naval Service Training Command?

    4-Year NROTC Scholarship Acceptance Thread

The little piggy in the graphic doesn't do justice for the Marines. I would use the image below....non-stop foragers who will charge at anything regardless of the risk (I have been on the wrong side of an angry boar). For the Navy I think a good spirit animal would be the hippo. Everyone...

Did my DS lose his award or am

It is likely that there will be a request for AMI (Additional Medical Information). Might just need to have a lipid test or kidney function test or whatever is needed to show there is no condition causing blood in the urine.
