I would go for some white tennis shoes, if anything, but you get issued shoes on I-day for PT in the morning. Your cadre may not let you keep yours and may make you "standardize" with the other basics with the issued shoes. Is it on the front or the back? If the check was on the front, maybe...

I spent a fair share on nice sports bras for basic (in fact I still wear them). It is worth it to spend a little extra to have nice things, after all, everything you get in basic will end up dirty/worn/smelly etc...so relish the little things like a nice sports bra. I am a cadre for 2018 basic...

It really depends on how well you manage your time, as stated earlier. My roommate and I usually go to bed around 10, but some nights you're forced to stay up later because of GR's etc.

It was stated earlier, but this question comes up every year. No matter what the cadre will single you out for something. I say just go ahead and make a group, just don't be stupid with what you post.

I think he should go and enjoy his time! But MAKE SURE that he keeps working out, as others have mentioned, if he arrives out of shape...basic will be even worse. Plus he can always "return" to that trip when the days seem especially hard.

Focus more on endurance. The excersizes you are going to be doing are body weight, so focus a lot on pushups/flutterkicks and pullups.

I did not buy boots before BCT and I was fine, just make sure they're not too big when you get them on I-Day.

I usually try to catch up on my sleep and homework during the weekends. There are certain training, or "silver" weekends where things like SAMI's (where one's room is graded) or different type of milt. training are done on Saturdays, but Sundays are free. Blue weekends are the fun ones, unless...

I agree completely with Pima! I was so ready to leave and begin my new life, that I missed out on some sr yr activities. The time goes by fast, so treasure your friends and family, those memories will get you through a lot.

The ALO interview is not that bad. Don't stress yourself out over it, or they will notice. Like everyone else has mentioned, just be yourself and show how much you really want to come to USAFA.
