    AFROTC 2012 EA Results

Problem is that they OFTEN don't have equal experience. If your talking about becoming a police officer, the ex JO gets the job versus a tow truck driver. If your a civil engineering firm, the ex-sapper commander can't hold a candle to an experienced civil engineer or even a operating...

    AFROTC 2012 EA Results

When I was a cadet, things were much simpler. The active AF at the time was 600,000 strong though. There was a simple point system and if you scored 65 points, you went to SFT and were in the POC. There wasn't even PFT scoring. Just SAT, GPA, major, ROTC grades and a few miscellaneous points...

Will ROTC Pay for Maritime Academy Cruise?

Greetings, Does anyone know if ROTC scholarships fund any of the state maritime academy cruises? I am not referring to ROTC cruises, rather the summer license track cruises. Please pass along what you know. Thanks

    Summer Semester

There are about 7 state maritime academies. They grant degrees like "Marine Transportation" which qualifies graduates for a USCG 3rd Mate's license. They also offer engineering degrees that lead to a USCG 3rd Assistant Engineer's license. These majors require 3 cruises which includes a 90 day...

    Summer Semester

Will ROTC cover the cost of summer cruises at the various state maritime academies? The sophomore summer cruise is a degree requirement, costs $4,000 and grants 10 semester units upon completion. There is an additional senior summer cruise which is also required and costs $4K.

    NROTC Scholarship

My DD's scholarship processor told me that AP coursework does not count towards the 30 unit limit. Only coursework completed at a college or university counts. Courses taken at a JC, for example, while the student was still in HS counts towards the unit maximum. The curriculum that my DD is...

    NROTC Scholarship

jac2331 For me, business is business. I don't support the college program for non-flying technical majors. The STEM student's time is valuable. I believe that academic efforts should be redoubled rather than investing in uncompensated ROTC efforts. Reapplying with 24-29 semester units...

    spring sport? risk of injury?

Very tough call. Question is whether or not the activity is worth the risk. If your talking about playing football for your college, you should play. If your talking about a travel team or club team, then absolutely not. I gave up boxing when I was a cadet. It broke my heart, but I...

    AROTC scholarship award

In my day as an AFROTC cadet, we had plenty of extra-curricular programs. But, doing extra was never a CAREER make or break requirement. Our mission was to excel as students above all. ROTC was never thought of as job or an unofficial minor. Many cadets did make ROTC an important part of...

    AROTC scholarship award

Well, lets see.. University catalogs usually recommend 3 hours study for each unit taken. If a student takes a normal 16 units he should plan for 48 hours a week study time. Add classroom time and we are up to 64 hours per week. Add 10-15 hours per week ROTC and we are up to 74-79 hours...

    Need advise!

Would this disenrolled student qualify for GI Bill benefits upon discharge? If so, I recommend doing the 2 years ASAP! The benefits and conditions of the GI Bill dwarfs any ROTC scholarship.
