    ACT help

Which is part of the curriculum for AP science. i.e. : Learning Objectives: LO 1.22 The student is able to use data from a real or simulated population(s), based on graphs or models of types of selection, to predict what will happen to the population in the future. [See SP 6.4] LO 1.23 The...

    ACT help

One thing to keep in mind is that the ACT is curriculum based so when you take it - matters. i.e. if you have not had a AP science course yet as a sophomore, you will likely struggle in the ACT.

    STILL a canidate.....

My DS was only 17 when he was at BCT and an extra year of academic prep and maturity would have benefitted him. So whenever I see people given the opportunity to go to prep school, I strongly urge them to see it as a real gift.

    HOBY IL - Awesome!

It is important to understand what these programs are about. Most are designed to be resume padding, a means by which a student can put something that approximates leadership or experience on a college application. While that is not to say these programs are without value, it is important to...

    Spec Ops Branch Difference

If you are talking about being an 18A, you will lead an ODA and be in the field. Unlike enlisted, officers do not specialize in something like communications or medical, so don't expect to be the one to kick the door down, though you might often be the first one off the ramp on a mission. Of...

    Any Helicopter Pilots Out There?

That is my understanding Ramius, that UPT is at capacity and there are real issues with trying to enlarge that funnel. But I am courious about your statement about upping the requirements for Hueys'. What do you mean by that?

    Any Helicopter Pilots Out There?

Thanks FG, I have spent a fair amount of time in helicopters. So I totally get where you are coming from. DS is a 2015 grad and his reasons for wanting the mission is the same as yours. But my understanding is that there are so few helo slots and right now there is a huge demand on fix wing...

    Any Helicopter Pilots Out There?

I'm curious, how does the opportunity to fly helicopters compare to other airframes? Do you have the opportunity to fly more often even if the length of your flights are shorter? Just trying to understand the attraction to flying rotary wing. My DS is currently at UPT, about to start flying...

    Class of 2020 Boots

The best thing about the issued boots is that if you have any issues with them, you can just exchange them. Can't do that if they are another brand. Over all the boots now days are all pretty good if they fit right, socks can often be a bigger issue.

My son is struggling academically in his Freshman Year....

As LITS said, there are really no strings to be pulled. AcPro is not subjective, you are on it or you are not. Your GPA falls below X you are notified and it is administrative in nature. If your GPA is below Y - depending on what year you are in at the Academy, you might face a board. Typically...

    Farewell to a Soldier

Col. Mize was an inspiration to those who served with him. He was in charge of training at JFKSWCS and helped to mold a generation of SF soldiers - I remember him as a mensch, while unassuming, he was a man of consequence. He will be missed.

    Disenrolled USAFA cadet

Just my two cents - I think there is alot of emotion when people are facing something like disenrollment. I have had to speak to more parents than I care to recount about what is happening with their cadet with respect to honor and conduct issues and I would never wish this situation on anyone...

Little boy found $20. Check out what he did with it. A beautiful story.

It is a nice story - there was another child a year back who did something special for a Gold star family. http://youtu.be/4JXD5HuLwsE

    Pre-Commitment review

AGL - I'm not convinced that this is really all that different than what has happened in the past. There have always been a ton of boards for cadets prior to commitment who were not meeting standards, as I remember it, there was quite a few cadets who left before commitment due to chronic issues...

    AFA Informant Program

If I understand this article correctly the Superintendent is saying that she is taking direct responsibility for something that is normally the purview of the Commandant of Cadets and the Vice Commandant. Anyone with better insight on this?

    AFA Informant Program

Amazing amount of consensus Meteor, I try not to get too personal in my posts, I don't know you personally and I see that you only joined a few days ago. My hope is that you want to be a meaningful contributor on this forum. It does not mean that we need to agree, but that the discussion you...
