    Summer 2012 NROTC Cortramid Dates

Does anyone know the dates for Cortramid East and/or West for summer 2012? Are there multiple phases for East and West? I can't find the dates online, and I'm trying to find research opportunities that won't conflict, or at least won't have much overlap. Thanks!

NROTC Final Board Results Being Posted

haha I just realized P-Flying17 = Ms. Parker. If you see this, thank you SO MUCH for your hard work on the NROTC scholarship wait-list, and for making a high school senior's dream come true. That email gave a whole new meaning to Good Friday, and it was easily the most excited I've ever been in...

Still have not heard from NROTC...

Irish1993, another thread indicated that you can request a deposit deadline extension if you explain the situation to your schools.

    Confirmation email?

I'd also like to know about this. I accepted an NROTC scholarship transfer Friday, and asked for some sort of confirmation, but still haven't heard anything. Our 3 days is up tomorrow, and if something went wrong, I'd really like to know. I'm assuming Ms. Parker is incredibly busy, and probably...

ROTC Scholarship as a college admissions "hook"

Thanks for the posts; you’ve all been very helpful. And thanks for sharing your story cooper1234. That’s amazing! A few things I should mention: I would cover R&B with local-scholarship $$ so I did not apply for financial aid, but I’m pretty sure the selective university I applied to...

ROTC Scholarship as a college admissions "hook"

I was assigned to the NROTC unit at a selective school, and if I'm not admitted (and if I can't transfer my scholarship) then my scholarship may become unusable. *I know for sure that at least 2 people on the admissions committee know about my predicament, because I corresponded with them about...

Can Someone Tell Me About AFROTC at the University of Notre Dame

Whoa I'm thinking about ND AFROTC too (if you can't tell by the username). My sister went to ND on a type-1 a few years ago, and she absolutely loved it. The people at the detachment there are incredibly nice--I visited the pasquerilla center when I toured ND last fall, and the capt. I spoke...

    AFROTC scholarship questions/thoughts

To anyone: How plausible/difficult is it to move "up" AFROTC scholarship types while in college? For example, moving from a type 2 to a 3-yr type 1 scholarship? My heart has alwayyyys been set on AF, but with the navy offering full tuition (assuming my transfer goes through), it is...

    AFROTC scholarship questions/thoughts

^Thanks so much! sorry to hear about your ds Pima, thanks for the info. As for finding out which type, it's not a fiscal matter, but for my mental state, it'd be nice to know haha. plus it'd be nice to surprise my parents tonight with all the details:) also, could you tell me which maxwell...

    AFROTC scholarship questions/thoughts

I just got an email from my regional coordinator saying I got an AFROTC scholarship, and I'm suuuppper excited!! Who should I contact to find out which type? And for AFROTC, are recipients "assigned" to a certain school like with NROTC, or can it be used anywhere with an AFROTC det? Thank you

    Transferring Scholarships

I think maybe the LT was saying that Notre Dame, due to its high selectivity, won't fill up completely, because some of the nrotc scholarship recipients assigned to ND will be rejected by Admissions (which would, of course, re-open those spots). P-Flying, you seem to have a lot of inside info...

    Transferring Scholarships

But is there a chance I could be disqualified from the AFROTC scholarship program by accepting the NROTC scholarship? I have not yet heard from AFROTC, and I don't want to lose that opportunity. Thanks, P-Flying, for your help.

NROTC Status changed...to "we are sorry, you were not selected for a scholarship"

@ Eaven--I was recently offered a scholarship. I got a call on monday (2/28) from my recruiter/scholarship coordinator. I then checked the status website and it had been updated. It was not updated when I checked the previous friday.

    Transferring Scholarships

Ok, I emailed the recruitment office at my assigned unit (Duke U) and was told: "Unfortunately, the application window for Duke is closed and Admissions has already begun reviewing them." So it looks like that plan's out the window. :frown: In addition to my 2 questions above, does anyone...

    Transferring Scholarships

2 quick questions: 1. do you have to accept the NROTC scholarship in order to request a transfer, or can this be done prior to accepting the scholarship (I'm still waiting to hear from AF, so I don't necessarily want to commit to Navy yet) 2. Are transfers considered before all the boards...

    Transferring Scholarships

I was recently awarded a NROTC 4-year scholarship, but I was assigned to the unit at my #5 school. The big problem, however, is that I did not apply to this school because 1. The application fee is wayyyy to high, and 2. I had already been admitted to my #1 school. I'm beginning to realize now...

NROTC Status changed...to "we are sorry, you were not selected for a scholarship"

good way to put it haha normally mine says "No decision has been made on your application" too...under "selection status." but I just checked and now there's nothing listed under it. what does that mean, if anything??

    Chances for an apprehensive applicant

Thanks for the optimistic responses--it's making the wait a little less painful. Pima, to answer your question: ultimately, I'd like to obtain an md/phd and work as a medical specialist/researcher (hopefully research in biomed. eng). I'm not exactly sure which branch would be more helpful in...
