I believe that R & B is taxable, but not tuition. Correct me if I'm wrong :).

USMCgrunt, I am glad you have heard from your DS! We got a few texts early on, but no address yet. I am being hounded by his girlfriend and brother to get his address! I know he is in Lima Co., but that is all the info I have. Hoping to get the form letter with the address soon. What...

    NROTC MO OCS "Bulldog" Course

My son is attending 2nd session. I believe it is July 5 to August 16. He has a rather extensive list, but I think he has been issued most everything he needs. He has his original pair of boots from freshman year, the unit gave him another pair a few weeks ago. I bought him the lightweight...

    NROTC Disciplined

My DS is a Marine Option scholarship student, sophomore. His battalion made it VERY clear that there was to be no fraternization...Between Navy OR Marines. It seems like that may be an issue since they called her boyfriend in too. Hopefully, it is not a huge deal for her and it all works out...

    ROTC Drug Testing

My son is an NROTC -marine option midshipman 3 rd class. His battalion has random drug testing. As a freshman he was never tested, and this year he has been tested once. You could go the entire 4 years and never get tested, or be tested several times. Luck of the draw. As someone already...

What will be the most challenging part of AROTC?

My DS just finished his first year at CU-Boulder. He is Marine Option NROTC. As Pima stated, the elevation is a huge issue for the Mids from sea level. We are from Colorado and DS trained during the summer in the mountains. He did fine on the PFT, but said it was a killer for kids not from...

    Promotion girl or ROTC student?

This is a very odd thread. Pima, I was offended by the "I want my daughter alive" remark also. Why is the daughter in JROTC??? Ignorance is bliss.

    Cadet Stipend

We are still dealing with this issue. I finally called NSTC and found out that when they went in and "corrected" his account number, they put it in wrong AGAIN. So...no stipend or book reimbursement until the 11/15 pay period.
