    Rumor of ROTC cuts?

I would add that the SMCs have a number of 2LTs they are supposed to commission based on Federal Law annually. I know at TAMU it is 85. We were briefed by our PMS to understand that this might mean if cuts do happen, our program might be less lenient towards cadets with issues prior to...

    Sequestering and CULP/ summer training

I know that there have been rumors about limiting training to 8 man units or smaller because of Sequestering. Will this affect CULP at all this summer? I know that the orders for everyone else in my group say budget approval pending, however we are unsure whether or not the CULPs have already...

    My Ignorance is Showing

Morgan you are 100% right about the standards having changed for our year vs previous. I had the highest GPR, only contract, and 2nd highest pt scores in my fish class, but because I had no desire to go out for Guidon chain I got PFC. If those don't qualify as someone who leads by example I'll...

AFROTC and Corps of Cadets at Texas A&M (TAMU)

Howdy! Myedu is a great tool. I would like to add that you might not be alone when you register for your classes. My department had a group of only 15 for our NSC so they had taken the time to reserve a University lab for us. Having the advisors there to help find a new course if one you had...

Accepted to: The Citadel, Norwich, etc.....

TAMU has two outfits that are for Frogs(out of the normal 4 year route cadets). I would look into if either SMC has a similar grouping.

Texas A&M- Spend the Night With the Corps

I'll just say. Sounds like the most ridiculous thing ever to me to be put with your group of buddies based on how tall you are. But to each his own I guess. At A&M the Corps of Cadets is organized into Major units: 3 Brigades (Army), 3 Wings (Air Force), 2 Regiments (Navy/ Marine), and the...

Texas A&M- Spend the Night With the Corps

Sorry, NSC is your New Student Conference. It's a three day welcome to Aggieland the summer between FOW and your high school graduation. It's when you will register for classes(you get academic advisers to walk you through the whole process), get measured for your Uniforms, officially...

Texas A&M- Spend the Night With the Corps

You're free to pick any outfit in the Corps. Though if you're Army contract they might not be thrilled for you to join a Squadron. As you know all outfits have their own reputations and specialties. H-1 is known for being intense, E2 for Rev, B2 and D2 are chalk full of contracts. C-1 is...

Texas A&M- Spend the Night With the Corps

C-1. I'm an Agribusiness Major and an Army Contract so it was either B2 or C1 to choose from. I picked Cobra C and I wouldn't go back and change it.

Texas A&M- Spend the Night With the Corps

Not really, my outfit's Spend the Nighters usually will talk to the Freshman during Thursday CQ for an honest look at fish life. Most of them don't ask enough questions about what to expect as far as we're concerned. BTW H-1 is hard. Expect to being running 6+ miles for PT within a month of...

Texas A&M- Spend the Night With the Corps

There are 38 or 39 Army MS I's on Contract for 3 or 4 year in Aggieland. But still there is a huge drop off from the last few years.

Am I on track for Texas A&M University?

Right now Texas A&M along with all other state funded schools in Texas (UT and Tech) is required by state law to admit all Texans in the top 10% of their class, or who have a 30 ACT composite with at least a 27 in the English and Math Sections and are top 25% of their class regardless of...

Annual Mardi Gras Drill Competition in New Orleans

I feel like bragging about not beginning to drill until winter break isn't the attitude conducive to beating Fightin' Texas Aggies. One of my fish buddies is squad leader on this year's team and the only thing he said was that everyone hated not being able to drill until the start of November...

    Boots and ACU's ?

I cant say for sure on whether or not that is true. However I whole heartedly recommend the nike combat boots(<://store.nike.com/us/en_us/?l=shop,pdp,ctr-inline/cid-1/pid-179377/pgid-438377>). My MSIV's came back from LDAC and raved about them the first month of mil sci. Donovan Fighting...

    Freshman Year

Umm wrestling is also great for conditioning. Our team usually did 45 min of running each practice with sprints at the end on top of that. Also wrestling will give you a base in grappling for combatives.

    NROTC Packing List

Parker, this is the list that AROTC emailed all Army scholarship recips. All things from MPW are fitted during the NSC. The stuff to bring for FOW is for the training week we have before classes start.

    NROTC Packing List

I'll see when I get em. My NSC is July 12-13 so I'll have time to either break em in or decide to buy a different pair.
