Am I on the Right Track? I messed up already?

And there are people with low GPAs that do. I'm a perfect example. I finished high school with a 3.2 unweighted GPA and I'm not particularly proud of it. Despite my low GPA, I was still offered full ride scholarships and an appointment to USAFA, probably more because of my ACT and involvement in...

    USAFA Cheating Scandal

My point is that they are not as experienced in working in a military environment being that its their first year. Putting them on remediation for admitting to a mistake seems more fitting than expelling them.

    USAFA Cheating Scandal

It's most definitely not my place to say anything. It's probably not wise for me to take part in this discussion, either. I apologize in advance for anything taken the wrong way. Freshmen have spent less than a year in an Air Force environment. Some of those freshmen are probably high school...

    Competitive?

The worst thing you can do is to join something you don't want to do but you feel would help your resume. Enjoy high school and try your hardest, but don't make regrets.

    USAFA AFSOC Route

The OP isn't being rude or disrespectful. He was just asking a question. No need to start an argument over his forum username.

    Civil Air Patrol

I agree that it's important to take higher level classes to be considered competitive, but if the AFJROTC unit at his school is active, it would be a great addition to the OP's resume. CAP units are usually smaller than AFJROTC units and do not share the same level of competitiveness for...

    Civil Air Patrol

If you have an opportunity and desire to do both CAP and AFJROTC, take both. You will be able to advance more quickly through the CAP ranks if you are also an AFJROTC cadet. Also, if the two organizations are not already communicating, you can begin that process and improve both units by sharing...

    Questions?

Thank you CC. I'm just worried about my weight. I really don't have any fat to lose.

    Questions?

I'm sorry, but I have more general questions. Are the sizes for the boots definite? For instance, if I wrote on the size sheet that I was a shoe size 10, am I going to be stuck with that? I'm pretty skinny, and I will undoubtedly be put at a special table to gain weight. I also...

    The Reapplying Club - C/O 2017!

It is probably not my place to say anything, but I visit the forums everyday and check the threads that you post frequently in. I'm sorry that you didn't get an offer, but I really appreciate your attitude and your determination to succeed, even now. No matter where you go to school, I'm sure...

    Class of 2016-Mailbox Stalkers Club

Yes. I've watched pretty much all the USAFA videos. Everything from the spirit videos to Academy Robot Chicken to all of the BCT/Recognition/I-Day videos. They're all equally informational (and exciting!!!). :shake:

The female cadet who speaks at the beginning of the video is from my hometown. We went to rival highschools/JROTC units. :)

Would it be a good idea to call the MOC office to see if their slot has been taken?

So I'm kinda screwed and I need help...

And I don't think any of the posts you are referring to are any indicator of poor character. "Cheating on a test maybe once in middle school" isn't really significant. And many civilians probably cannot recite the NAVAL ACADEMY honor code, so I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't know it.

So I'm kinda screwed and I need help...

We'd have to hear the whole story before making assumptions about their's or anyone's character. And I'm sure the situation is more than just black and white. That's a good point though; it would be beneficial to think about the character required to be an officer.
