    Political Knowledge?

Should a kid be concerned with current events? Yes. Are they? Not always. Really, how many mids would read articles if not required? IMHO becoming innately curious comes only when you are able to grasp the bigger picture. To some, that occurs later than others. My 17 yo's interest barely...

    Political Knowledge?

Thanks for the insights. BTW, it's my daughter that's interested in academy life; I'm simply trying to educate myself. Again, appreciate everyone who took the time to respond.

    Political Knowledge?

Some recent posts got me to wondering... how much should our mids/hopefuls concern themselves with the political landscape? The job at graduation is to serve the USA. But does it help to know what's going on particularly if there is no personal interest? Phrased differently... if mid/hopeful...

What happens to those that don't graduate?

Are mids given 4 years only to finish? What happens if you fail a class? Are you out? Make it up? Are there any that complete four years of academy that don't graduate (not asked/made to leave, just don't have the academics for a bachelors)?

Football - A little off topic

Watching the AF/Navy game last weekend and towards the end of the game Navy was given a penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct (something like that anyway). Question... does that penalty get translated into any type of reprimand by the academy? Did that player violate any code of honor/conduct...

    USNA or USAFA?

That is exactly what I told her. What's important is where she wants to serve and begin her career. I was just curious about the validity of the statement made to me.

    USNA or USAFA?

After an academy day session, my daughter is now giving Air Force some thought. Someone mentioned easier as a female to get into USAFA vs USNA. Thoughts?

    Visit to Annapolis - Suggestions?

Driving to Annapolis with my HS junior next month. Any suggestions? Tour worth it? Go to admissions sessions? Any not-to-be-missed things? Thanks.

    Type of sport matter?

Assuming two candidates are equal in all respects sans sports, any idea if type of sport ever factors in the decision process? This year my daughter will be on varsity football cheer, varsity basketball cheer, competition cheer and varsity track, and although cheer may not have the same...
