You also have to take into account that the recruited athlete may have received a different nomination from a different source (Senator, Presidential, JROTC, etc). USAFA might have selected the athlete from that other source. Don't give up yet!

I was under the impression that Colorado Springs also does not like US Air Force Academy. At least, some parts of Colorado Springs do. I don't understand why New London would dislike cadets, especially when it's the cadets that will be the future leaders of this country.

Everything looks good. I know a couple of my friends that took AP Calculus or even Pre-Calc at a community college over summer and took the next math course during the school year. You might want to look into that. In addition, a sport would be great to your application. You have AF JROTC but...

But surely the college campus should be safe...compared to that of a regular university. I have another question: what do most cadets like to do on weekends, especially during 3 day weekends because of a holiday (Washington's Birthday...etc) Drive up to New York? Fly to another state?

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to put a "metropolitan" city but just a city. I think I have heard that 4/c are allowed to walk to nearby resturaunts on weekends. I am actually planning to visit CGA because I'm really unfamiliar with its surroundings. I really need it! :redface:

I'm not too familiar with the location of Coast Guard Academy and always thought that CGA was close by metropolitian cities, maybe even walking distance. Is that not the case?
