no, I will be a sophomore. I will not be in the cadet corps, but will attend the same classes. I am currently enlisted, but the AF is paying me to go to school and finish my degree.
Hi :) I will be going to the Citadel next year as a Veteran Day Student, in the AFROTC program. It would be nice to get to know some people also going. Hope to see you there.
Palindrome- why would you want to enlist after you got your degree? I am enlisted now and there is no way I'd want to go enlisted first. Have you thought about OTS? There are ways to commission once you are enlisted but it takes time and there isn't a guarantee...
Hello
I am currently enlisted in the AF. I love it. I joined because the job I was working in was a dead end. I had pretty much failed out of college my first time. I wanted a new start and a chance to do education over again.
My values really haven't changed much other than I think I embrace...
The program is very new :P It has been verrryyy interesting working through their old systems and new rules that were not quite up to speed with what I was doing. Originally, Veterans could attend school with the cadets, but not do ROTC. So I will be the first to be a vet and go through ROTC to...
Patent--
You mentioned that the the Citadel does not have civilians, it does :) I'll be one next year with luck.
They have a veteran day program, which goes to classes with the cadets, but as civilians. A undergrad evening program, and a graduate program open to civilians :)
We have ID card scanners, but I haven't heard of someones cac not working because it is too old.
They still have TA for spouses. There is the overseas one and the regular one, MYCAA. MYCAA has become so restricted right now. You can't pay for a bach or anything like that, only...
They have narrowed down the hours that you can do ID Cards. You can't call them, but if you have a problem/missing card, you have to set an appt via email with them first. (which is silly cause you need your id card to email...) and it has to be routed first with your supervisor and shirt...
Civilians are quickly getting their pink slips. Many of them were recently told that most of them had 60 days to prepare a resume and pack their bags. One unit alone cut 70 civilian jobs. The process over here has been one of the most inane I've seen. Higher HQ cut the job positions, then they...
Pima,
No offense taken. It can be hard to tell how things come across...there should be different fonts for different meanings.
By "super chemistry" a simple chemistry degree from any college will not qualify. For all of the "technical" degrees they must be ABET certified. For our...
Pima,
It wasn't as much of a compliant as a notification that ROTC cuts are happening on both sides. This could be useful to someone who is thinking because of the cuts to enlist first and try to work their way up from there. I use TA to the highest extent possible. I for a year took an...
To start off, I'm mostly a lurker.
To those than are feeling the cuts in the civilian world, for the fisrt, AD ROTC is suffering too.
The AECP "Airman education commissioning program" was cut this week. This was the best program the AF had to offer to enlisted troops. The Air Force in...
I live near Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany. This is the hospital that the wound warriors go to when they come out of the desert. When they arrive many will be dressed in summer pt uniforms or tattered uniforms. The chaplains closet here is always in need of sweat pants/tops. They...
I too am familiar with that form. I am a security manager in the AF.
Some tips -
Fill it out EXACTLY as written- any thing different will cause delay.
Have no gaps in timelines, they will notice and ask more questions. This goes for housing, job, school.
Keep a copy when you're done...
