U.S. Air Force Pilot Crashes in North Sea

Nothing could be more true. He’s an amazing guy. He was my roommate during the summer, helped me through aero engineering almost every day, and a great squad commander for our squad senior year. Truly a transformational leader and great friend.

    Pull ups

Negative pull-ups. I swear by them. My sister (who couldn't do one pullup) asked me one day how she could get better. I told her to do negatives until she physically couldn't lift her head up to the bar anymore. She can now do 5 pullups I'll add, I could only do 3 pullups when I first applied...

    C4C Year Question

Not saying you're wrong. I don't have a copy of the ROEs but I'm sure you're right.

    C4C Year Question

I don't think the Wing TO will be able to control it, but you may be right. We'll have to see when the year starts!

    C4C Year Question

Yes. As far as media restrictions go, it's not a matter of what individual squadrons want to do anymore. As of last year, C4Cs cannot have their media use restricted at all.

    C4C Year Question

Yes you may. There are no longer media restrictions for 4 degrees at the Academy, which means you may use over the ear headphones and earbuds following the end of BCT.

USAFA: Worried about lack of extracurricular activities and possibilities

I would like to add that I had worse ACT scores and got a nomination when I applied. It really depends on where you're applying from, who your competition is, and how you perform in an interview. I guarantee that I was one of the least qualified candidates applying to the academy, but they told...

Opinions please on service academy college admissions coaches

I wouldn't even consider it. You're probably going get to more "insider information" on these forums for free than anyone charging $2,500 out there has to offer. Additionally, having to complete the application process on your own (the student applying, not the parents) makes you realize how bad...

Definitely had all letters with photos embedded taken from me. As previously stated, it depends on the flight.

    USAFA: Worried About Fitness

You're forced to work out with a group of other cadets on athletic probation every day of the week.

    USAFA: Worried About Fitness

Can confirm. Athletic probation is miserable.

    USAFA: Worried About Fitness

Not very difficult at all. If you put the work in, you'll do fine.

    USAFA: Worried About Fitness

You definitely do. I used to be able to do only 1 or 2 pullups and was put on recondo (a physical fitness program at the academy) which lasted a month and a half and got up to 7 pullups! A year later I was doing 21 pullup. And keep up the running!

    random pre-bct questions

USAFA83GradWife had the perfect answer. Everything in the backpack. Donate or otherwise get rid of the suitcase. If the boots don't fit into your backpack, carry them with your backpack. Chances are, if they see your boots, they will make you put them on right there on the footprints.

    Ask Us (current cadets) Anything

It's up to her. I wore my boots to I-day because they told all the preppies to do so (so they could differentiate preppies from everyone else). We definitely got singled out for it on the footprints.

    Inprocessing Parking ???

I did not receive the information I was hoping to receive to help you all out, but I'm being told it should be easy to follow the signs.

    Inprocessing Parking ???

Aha! I'm actually working parking for I-day so I can be some help here. I'm supposed to be receiving a parking map in picture form sometime tomorrow that I will post so that you can visualize it all. To answer your question: You cannot park directly at Doolittle, but there will be multiple lots...
