    Varsity Athletes

No. All the members of a NCAA teams are not in the same company. However, during beast barracks, all of the plebes joining that team will be in the same beast company. I was in Delta Co, and we had all of the swimmers and divers. After beast, you will all be scrambled to the wind.

    Contingency plans?

It just depends what your approach is to the whole ordeal. I had an acceptance to UT Austin lined up, and I spoke to my admissions coordinator about exactly this. He said that if I really wanted to be a cadet, and succeed, that I needed to adopt a "burn the boats" kind of attitude. If I had...

    Rooms

Current Cadet Says Brace Yourself I live in Grant Barracks now, which are the oldest on post (not counting Pershing, which, though constructed in 1895 were renovated). The window is popped out. The sink leaks. The mirror cabinet doesn't close. The tiles are broken. I have two holes in my wall...

    Rooms and Environment

Not to mention that when I was a plebe, I lived in Pershing, where there were 4 to a room! (But the rooms in pershing are gigantic.) Anyways, if you're looking for personal space, pray you're not in Grant barracks. :yllol:

    Mock R Day

Make sure after June 29th you all post the particulars of the run-through! I'm sure many CC's (myself included) would love to hear as much about the schedule as possible!

    Late VP Nomination

Vice President is "president of the senate" , I thought. He's just treated as a normal MOC.

    Beast mental prep

I'd like to know too. During the long and empty days of summer (between workouts, of course) I get to thinking... how do I approach this???

    Trips home from West Point

So, hypothetically, if you were heinously poor,(and live far enough away that you need to fly) you could just spend your leave time at USMA?

    Computer Purchase

Deducted out of your cadet pay. Its part of the gigantic "Red" you make when you get all your issued items. You never have to cough up for that. :yllol: See you on R-day

    Plebes to be scrambled

Why is this considered bad to replace the garrison cap w/ the combo cover? Is it uncomfortable or something?

    Plane-ticket for R-day Question

Not sure dude. I'm waiting until june to fill out the Travel info, I'm just leaving it as a red x for now. I'm sure in the 3rd or 4th admissible mailings you'll get more info. Did you check "instructions for candidates offered admission?" There definitely is a section on the Tickets

    Boots/Low-quarters

    Hints in "Candidates offered Admission"

They never release that info, i think.

    Hints in "Candidates offered Admission"

:yllol: Seems simple enough. Except the immunization record form is just darn intimidating.

    Hints in "Candidates offered Admission"

Hahahahah. That would suck to get a bunch of shots on R-day. How about during the rest of your time at USMA? Is there like a remedial medical exam each year you come back from summer? (i understand u guys might not know)

    Hints in "Candidates offered Admission"

Even at a government rate, geez they'll be working their tail off. Unless the doctors just like look over your forms and immunizations. Sterilize, examine. (Repeat x 100)

    Hints in "Candidates offered Admission"

I mean, geez, 1000 physicals in 12 hrs? They've gotta have like 100 doctors on site.

    Hints in "Candidates offered Admission"

Got admitted to USMA off NWL last week. Going about filling out the necessary forms and background check and deposit, etc. I see that not only in the accepted packet but in the "instructions to Candidates offered Admission," that the Director of admissions keeps a making a point of it to say...

    Boys State

I definitely agree. I go to school close to a pretty.... anti-military area near Berkeley, so I had to go directly to the American Legion a half-hour away.
