I was very suprised at some of the questions asked at the briefing in Ike Hall. It was if some of the parents had not read any of the admissable mailings or any of the massive amounts of literature West Point sends. Maybe it's the fact they don't stalk this forum as i do :biggrin:

I get the feeling from some of the posters on this thread, that because you are a minority, for some odd reason you cannot possibly be as good as a non- minority(scholastically,S.A.T etc.). I just want to point out that every appointee to West Point is 3Q'd, meet the requirements of background...

reeker, it took my DD about a month to recieve her BFE after recieving her nomination. She also had an LOA, the package is probably in route to you already. The only difference is that we had to wait through the holidays, and everyone was on vacation, but what an awesome belated Christmas...

Ok, hope it works out for you! Do you have a plan B?

Quadething, I am confused, you posted above that you are on the NWL, but in another thread you are listed as having recieved an appointment. Am i missing something? Not trying to be rude, just informed.

RSR, Congrats to your family and your DS! I can't wait for it all to start, it will give my wife and i excuses to go to New York now! :biggrin: I know it has been a lot of hard work for these young men and women, and i just want to say " well done!"

My family, and my dd were blessed tremendously today when we received a phone call from our congressmans' office saying that she has received an appointment to West Point. I know that there is a lot of hard work ahead for my dd, but we know that we have been given an honor that is not bestowed...
