    Thank You SAF!

I have not received word on a waiver from Cadet Command. I have a meeting tomorrow with a leuitenent colonel at KU. He and I are going to work together to look at possible paths and see if we can actually hear from Cadet Command. They have been silent for a while. The condition I was DQ'ed was...

    Thank You SAF!

You're right. I haven't given up hope. Just hope for the class of 2017. I still am track for AROTC. I set up a meeting with the head of AROTC at KU where we are going to go through all the possibilities including an appeal process. I still desire to be an Officer. I wrote that post a few minutes...

    Thank You SAF!

Well, after months of waiting, I finally received word that I was denied a waiver to USMA. I just wanted to come by and say thank you for all the advice I've seen on these forums over the last 18 months. I've looked at these forums at least once a day, if not twice, or thrice. Your help was...

    Waiver Pending

DS received letter requesting waiver for an eye injury last fall. Eye Doc faxed and mailed his records to DoDMERB on Monday. I see nothing on his status page regarding waiver request. Are you sure it was a waiver? If DodMERB is asking for more info that sounds like a remedial. They will make...

    Varsity sports walk-ons

I am just curious. What kind of golf scores do you need to make the golf team? I am half-way decent (but by no means good)

USMA Class of 2017 Acceptance Thread

Got scared out of my mind today. My dad came into my room and tossed a TWE from West Point onto my bed. I, fearing the worst, slowly opened the letter only to find that I was still medically uncertain. I am still waiting for the waiver but I am glad that this TWE was not the TWE.

Has the waiting twisted my mind? Think the portal changed...

Relax guys... I am medically disqualified and mine changed too... (of course, if I got a waiver all that changes)

USMA Class of 2017 Acceptance Thread

Everyone needs to relax, so I am here to help. Read and obey my every command... breathe deeply...I am going to count down from 5 and when I reach 1 you will be in a state of utter calm...5...4...3, breathe in...and out...2...1... Seriously though, just relax, some mail is delayed by snow...

    How long is the wait?????

I had my appointment on september 13, got a remedial on sept 18, got DQ'ed on Oct 23. Then had a waiver requested on Oct 26. I am still waiting for the decision on that. So, hopefully you hear back a little faster than I am from either DodMerb or the Waiver people if that happens.

    A Numbers Question.....

That is a good question. I am the P-nom in my state (there are benefits to living in Kansas) but am medically DQ'ed. I am just waiting for a waiver that was requested way back in October. I feel as if a decision would be made before offers were sent out but they also said they are sending...

    What is Requested Waiver

Welcome to the Hopeful Waiver Waiters Club. Here at HWWC, we strive to make time go faster as we (im)patiently wait for the waiver. So pull up a chair and grab a drink. No knowing what happens from here. Seriously though, a requested waiver means that they view you as a competitive candidate...

    Disqualified

It's been well over two months since I was notified that USMA requested a waiver (Oct. 26). Since then I have received 3 nominations including a principal nomination but still no word on my medical status. I tried to message my admissions team but I have not heard from them in quite a few weeks...

Chances of getting accepted to the class of 2017

Hey, a fellow Kansan. Good to see another here on the forums. You shouldn't worry about chances but rather doing what you can to improve your file. Since class rank and test scores are 60% of your WCS, you should definitely focus on academics. Your rank is fairly low but you still have...

    KS-03

I received a letter today from Senator Moran today and was stunned to find that I received a principal nomination to West Point. Needless to say, I am extremely grateful and excited. Now, I just go back to refreshing my waiver page over at dodmerb's website.

    Confused about Process and Timing

I would definitely apply for ROTC. Having a back-up plan is huge. You never know when an injury or accident can occur which could keep him out of West Point. Your DS needs to keep in mind that the end goal of West Point is a commission as a 2LT. If he is committed to that, then he needs to have...

KS-03 nominations were announced today. Congratulations to everyone who received one and I will see you in Abilene tomorrow for Sen. Moran.

    Kansas Nominations

It says KS61 twice. I still have two more interviews. Should I bring this up or will they already know? I know that in my part of Kansas, people can get nominated by multiple sources.

    Kansas Nominations

I checked my portal today to find out that I received a nomination from KS61 (which I assume is Pat Roberts because he is the only one with whom I have had an interview yet.) The only thing I noticed was that on the portal it was listed twice, is that normal? Either way, I am very excited this...
