    AFROTC Type II Scholarship

Ma'am, She knows I'm in AFROTC and that I have been working for a scholarship since my freshman year. She and my dad were ADAF for 12-13 years as well. I think she was concerned because in the early 90's they both separated and are now paying back some of their time and she's worried that...

    AFROTC Type II Scholarship

Well you and I are a little bit different I suppose. I chose an ME major solely to have a higher chance at a scholarship and priority for things in AFROTC. I really needed a scholarship to stay at my university and continue with ROTC. But congrats! Only 1 cadet in our det. got a scholarship...

    AFROTC Express ABM scholarship

When my det. went over the CSO Express scholarship the PAS implied once you've commissioned as a CSO, your obligation to that career field would end (after training for X months and being stationed somewhere) and you could then apply somehow to be a pilot. We were also made aware that it's not...

    AFROTC Type II Scholarship

This morning I was notified that I received a Type II 3-year in-college scholarship. I've read over the contract details and am prepared to sign the papers tomorrow afternoon but my mom is concerned about the 8 year commitment. I am not, but she is, and I was wondering how to quell her fears...

    Nominations (GA)

No. In fact, both Senator's offices talk to each other about candidates. They do this to ensure they dont both nominate the same two candidates, thus wasting a spot for another highly qualified candidate. Last year I got a nomination from Sen. Chambliss, and my home rep., but Isakson sent me...

    Failing classes before starting AFROTC

It is my understanding that in AFROTC if you receive a poor grade in a class and retake it, they will average the two grades together. So if you get an F the first time, retake it, and get an A AFROTC will average the two even if your school replaces the grade entirely

    New ROTC students and drinking

No he had barely turned 18. He was 17 when he entered and was the youngest in the det.

    New ROTC students and drinking

On Junior Ring Weekend last spring at Norwich, an AFROTC 100 (on scholarship) drank enough to get alcohol poisoning. He didn't come back this year but to the best of my knowledge he kept his scholarship and transferred to another university.

North Georgia College and State University

"The town rolls right up to the side of the university so there is plenty to do..." This is why you should choose UNG, as long as you're okay with Army ROTC. Norwich is cold and there is nothing to do here. All anyone does here is bring alcohol on campus and drink on the weekends. Plus the...

    AFROTC as a nomination source?

I think I remember you on these forums from last spring. I was nominated through AFROTC so I might be able to help. At the beginning of the year I explained to the CoC that I had applied to USAFA the year before and was reapplying. He said no problem and to get back to him in Oct/Nov. He then...

    Foreign Language AFROTC Scholarship

As Pima said, no one knows for sure how many ISS are available. More than likely your son, despite his 3.8 GPA, is farther back in line for a scholarship than a cadet who has a technical major. In my det. last year, an international studies major was passed up for a scholarship who had a 3.9...

    Class of 2016-Mailbox Stalkers Club

Got my second TWE in as many years today. I'll stay the course with Norwich AFROTC to commission. Congratulations to all of those who have been accepted, and good luck to those still waiting.

    Class of 2016-Mailbox Stalkers Club

The process this year wasn't very different from my experience the year before when I applied. The main differences were 1) I used my college chemistry professor for an academic recommendation, 2) I was eligible for and received an ROTC nomination 3) I wasn't focused on turning in my application...

Official USAFA Class of 2016 Appointment thread

Absolutely, fritz. I would also add that it is important not just to participate in ROTC, but to succeed. Im sure earning awards and/or having a job in the det. as a freshman looks much better than just listing "ROTC paticipant" or some such term. Also, a recommendation from the CC helps

    Class of 2016-Mailbox Stalkers Club

That's an extremely naive thing of you to say. Many more officers commission through ROTC each year than through the Academy. I don't know why you'd call it useless.

    Re-applicant Decision Help?!

From experience I'd say go to a college with AFROTC. You're then in the running to receive an AFROTC nomination for next year's class and if you once again get a TWE next year, you'll still be on track to commission. Regarding the issue of NWP vs. Mizzou/S&T is something I can't answer. Have...
