    Reality for competitive Districts

just a quick point. if he enlists. finishes up his enlisted schooling, and does very well at his first duty station. he can get a nomination in time to become a member of the next years class. and most likely get admitted as well. the army is big on soldier applying to west point. our...

    Religion at West Point

go use google and look up the US Army's Equality Opportunity policy. it states in there very specifically what you can and cannot do in regards to religion. there are people in each and ever company level unit in the army, and of course its own chain of command, to ensure that no one feels that...

    CAC ID Cards for Cadets

he wants to show off his CAC... they keep making changes to them, and the most recent was a memo stating there is to be no more SSN's on any ID cards (and most army forms now too). they assign you a DoD ID number.

    Special Forces after West Point

alright. so they two units are TOTALLY different. their missions are completely on opposite sides of the spectrum. i'm gonna go ahead and say get through west point, do as well as you can, get through your BOLC training, once again, show you're the best. and then once you get to the, what we...

Personal experience from enlist basic. Hardest part was being on my feet from 0500 to 2130 everyday. And I had been working construction for two years prior. Coming from 8 hour school days sitting at a desk then going to on your feet all day would be hard. Plus boots are heavier than normal shoes.

    Special Forces after West Point

And you don't have to do any of that for delta. You have to pass an iq test, fitness test, and selection board. they will give you what ever other training they need you to do. Plus their own operator course. Once again, there is a rank requirement How I know this, I applied as enlisted, but...

    for fun

So of the people on where who have been accepted, I'm curious to how many are service or already out of high school. Also, at the risk of being "grandpa", anyone else as old as me (turn 23 days after we report for beast)

    APFT

the regs say the run is to be a two mile run. doesnt mean that it is. the "course" i ran at my basic training was over two miles. the time between events is really not as much as you think. PT tests are given at either the plt, company, or BN level in the regular army. you will RARELY have a...

    Special Forces

if you're even remotley considering going to SEALs, i'd reccomend looking very carefully into a pre-ranger course as one of your summer training events. the task and intensity of the training for pre-ranger is about as close as you can get to what you'll face in BUD/S. there is a show that was...

    Starting to get Beast Supplies

so that list has a good amount of useful items. but at the same time, if beast is anything even remotely similar to what Basic was like for me, you'll need your watch, paperwork, some stamps, some paper, a couple cheap pens, and a sharpie. i'd be surprised if west point didnt publish a list...

    Boots...where to get them?!

as a currently serving soldier, I think it's important to realize that the style of boot isn't so important as the way it fits the foot. these aren't your nike J's you're buying before you first day of school. for perspective of how important good boots are: on my deployment, the dining...

quick question for service related candidates. i've been accepted, how long does it take to process the orders, and is it a PCS or ETS. i've been given both answers. Also, the boots, e-QUIP, medical processing, and all that other stuff i've had done for years because i'm in the army, do i...
