Yes you can go SWO(N) through NUPOC. Just some additional info, he will have to pass a phone interview and then the interview in D.C. first. After graduation, if he goes the SWO way, he'll qualify SWO and then go to power school and prototype.

For me it came down to the money. Even with 36 months of benefits, E-6 pay and BAH was still not as much as tuition for the same amount of semesters at 18-20 credit hours/semester at the non-resident rate.

For NROTC, you must have either a scholarship or advanced standing by junior year in order to continue in the program and on to commissioning. If you're on advanced standing your tuition is not covered but you will receive the monthly stipend.
