Minimum SAT Scores for Acceptance for Class of 2014

The Math score on the SAT/ACT carries more weight; reflects the curriculum at USNA. Good Luck.

Nope. They address this issue in the instructions for accepted candidates.

    Banking-- Where to go?

I believe that the USAA representative told me when I called that you don't even have to mail in the check for a deposit; if you have a scanner, you can scan the check and send the image to USAA- they will do the rest. Aside from having to send the WP form to them to sign, USAA seems like the...

    NAPS vs Foundation

I'm curious if you could offer some explanation as to why this happened to your class. Is it always like that? Do the NAPS kids generally struggle at the academy? Is the USNA graduation rate for NAPS lower, higher or the same?

    USNA vs USAFA vs USMA

It's been said that the Air Force is about the planes, the Navy is about the ships and the Army is about the people. However, not everybody in the Air Force flies, not everyone in the Navy flies, and not everyone in the Army is leading a platoon. So what about USNA with a Marine Corps option...

    Unsure

Does your son have a principal nomination from a MOC? If not, he may now be 3Qed and at the bottom of the national pool--say 2000th out of 2100 that are 3Qed. Those people will most likely not make it off the list and receive an appointment. I don't know how the academy will handle your son's...

    NAPS Questions?

NavyGirl- What do you think about the academics at NAPS? How does it compare to your high school and how do you think y'all will do at the academy (academically)?
  9. Q

    Appointments

My sense is that they have a fairly good history of the number of kids that will get the waivers. The waivers are supposed to be cleared up by a certain date, but if that kid's waiver comes through latter and the kid has a high candidate score, that kid will be at the top of the pile and be the...

    For Those With Appointments...

Call the cadet command at Ft. Monroe-- tel number is in all the info they provided to you. Ask them your question(s) and they will give you the answer straight from the horse's mouth. Good luck.

    CFA

Adding 5 pull-ups will not change your score; once you hit the maximum, 18, your done and you cannot receive additional points for exceeding the maximum. So, if you want to work on the CFA work on the sub-maximum events. PS Your scores are awesome. Now, tell us your 6'6" and 250 lbs.
  12. Q

    cfa, kinda freaking out

gdesena is correct. Also, make sure that you give yourself ther test all the way through on the CFA schedule. Otherwise, you will find that your mile may be a 7:50. Three pull-ups probably won't work, but six would be great for a guy your size. It's all about practice. Good luck

    5th Slot

I'm confused. If a "cadet was turned back", wouldn't that MOC's slot open up again? I thought that the rules allowed a MOC to have five total at each academy at any one time--e.g., Could have five plebes or two plebes and one in each of the other classes. I don't understand why a MOC would not...

    Senator Cardin MD

We're still waiting for Sen. Cardin's letter also. I'm beginning to feel sorry for the mailman--he used to just have to worry about our dog coming at him, now he has me too.

    Needing insight

I found out about academic qualification when I called USNA admissions about something else. They casually mentioned that the board found my candidate academically qualified. So you can call, if you can't wait, or you can wait for the letter they will send. The academies would like you to have...
